Scared New stage 4 cancer

Hello I'm new here so I'm just learning and apologize if I don't write things correct. I'm newly diagnosed stage 4 cancer patient that's had the cancer metasited to all my bones. I've been thru most trestments and I'm unable to tolerate them all. So my oncolgist has taken me off all my meds. So the only Mede I'm on are pain Medes which are not helping either. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated struggling for advice. Thank you all and God bless.

I'm so sorry. This sounds like a very scary place to be. I see in your picture that you have horses. I've always been afraid of them--they're so BIG! But I understand they can be extremely sensitive. Are you still able to ride?

    You haven't really told us

You haven't really told us very much about yourself Ruby.....is your Stage 4 Diagnosis a new one after long treatment?  There are other women on this Site who are also living with Stage 4 BC and perhaps you can share with each other the things that have helped you.   If your first diagnosis is stage 4 than you are in Shock...and need time to process all of this.  You have come to the right place......and we send you encouragement and prayers for strength and for courage.  Please keep posting.  Glo

it is a very scary place to be but I'm trying to stay positive (not do much these days). Anyway I have always owned horses, they are in my blood. Sadly I'm not able to ride anymore but I brush and pet them when I can. Even though there big if you get a chance pet one they will bring you more joy then you will ever know

    Hello Glowmore. Sorry I guess

Hello Glowmore. Sorry I guess I should have given more information about myself. I'm 49 years old and I live with my husband and now my mother (since my dx). I live on a cow/calf operation and yes my husband is a real life cowboy. I use to work in the medical field in a dialysis clinic as a certified tech. I took care of patients all day everyday. Two years ago I was medflighted out to the nearest city with full reneal failure and the dx of cancer. With I got to Huntsmen Cancer Institute they took numerous tests and my first dx ever is Stage 4 breast cancer that has mets to all my bones, and two organs as well.  I can no longer work in the field I love and my pastime of working on the ranch too has been taken from me as well. so I'm reaching out to you lovely folks to maybe find some answers or get some keenship. Thank you for answering me. Gracie

    Hi Ruby!

I also live with stage 4 bc. I was stage 2 in 1999 and 2001. In 2013 I had bc mets to my lungs and the T9 of my spine. Arimidex cleared my lungs and I believe the Xgeva shot helped make my lesion on my spine dormant and calcified. I recently switched to Aromasin (Arimidex was making me have intolerable side effects after two years).

It worries me you are not on any meds. I hope you can be prescribed something.

You can find me and read my story. Also you can message me anytime :)

    Take care,

    Missy

    Hello Missy

thank you for your response. I was immediately dx with stage 4 bc that has mets to dome of my organs and all my bones including my skull. They have tried numerous estrogen blockers; tamoxifen , etc. since my dx including xgevia. All of the meds have such serious side effects that I'm no longer on anything. For pain they prescribe me oxy and I have a pain pump which gives me no relief. Someone said something about radiation therapy for the pain, do you know anything about this?  Im going to read your story if you don't mind. Please stay in touch. I have very little support would love yo stay in touch. Gracie.

    Hi,

I had radiation on my spine last fall. Two weeks of it on the T9 area to try to get rid of a "pinch" feeling. I guess it worked. Currently from Arimidex, Xgeva and possibly the radiation, my lesion is dormant and calcified over. Every once in a while I might notice an ache, but nothing big.

I hope something works for you soon. (((hugs)))
