    I just read the entire

I just read the entire article. Absolutely sickening. To think she went so far to tell her parents she had cancer and have her sister drive her to Johns Hopkins for fake appointments is mind boggling. I don't wish cancer on anyone but if there was ever a person who should really know what it is like to have cancer first hand is her. I think the money she stole is the least of it. The digusting thing is how she had everyone believing it and having to go through all of the mental pain and worrying that people close to cancer survivors have to endure. and for what? her own twisted greed and selfishness. She obviously doesn't give an damn about anyone except herself. It is amazing how some people have absolutely no conscience.

There Were A Couple Of Others Recently

Sue (trubrit) posted one about a cancer charity scam that got busted in VT if I recall correctly and someone else posted about the woman from Australia who is a con.  It really is beyond the pale that people can do it.  Like you mentioned, I would not wish this on anyone, but those who con using cancer or other disease...

I see the fear and concern from my friends and family and to put those around her through this. I just cannot conceive of the lack of morals and empathy this person has.  Sociopath is the word that comes to mind.

You guys are nicer than I am.

You guys are nicer than I am. I think anyone that wants to fake it should get it. They should be able to first hand experience the pain, fear, mental anguish, financial problems, everything. It makes me furious.

    I'm a cancer pretender.  I

I'm a cancer pretender.  I pretend my body hasn't been totally ruined by cancer.  It's a great world to live in.  lol  If this person only knew the fear and anxiety that accompanies real cancer.  Shameful.  Currently NED, working to stay that way but the damage is done.  I'd give anything to have my old body back.  She's got a lot of growing up to do.

    People are sick!

I really do worry about the callousness of so many people these days.

It seems that people are becoming self-centered with no regard for others. They worship the almighty dollar and will do anything to get it. Other just love the attention, they thrive on it. I really hope these people are arrested and get psychiatric help. All money should have to be repaid with interest.

I have been hanging out on cancer forums

for about five years now and in that time I have run into three different people who were def faking cancer.  One, like this so-called beauty queen, also shaved her head and told her family (including her two little kids) that she was sick.

In these cases, I think there was some mental illness involved, as they weren't really making money off their hoaxes, but these people who use their stories to scam people out of money are truly sociopathic.  And absolutely should spend time in jail.  I can't believe that girl in Australia (Belle Gibson) never went to prison for her giant scam.  She even got to keep all the money she made.  UGH.
