    Thanks for posting this link.

Pembrolizumab is a drug marketed by Merck that targets the programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptor.

What I find even more fascinating and encouraging is the combination of ipilimumab (monoclonal antibody developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb that works to activate the immune system by targeting CTLA-4, a protein receptor that downregulates the immune system) and nivolumab (similar action to the one posted by you, is an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb).

The combination of the 2 was possible because they are produced by the same manufacture. It’s for different indication, but I am pretty sure it will prove to be useful for H&N cancers.

    cures near...

I visited my medical oncologist a couple weeks ago and we had a long chat about cures. He is dead convinced cancer is caused by virus that go undetected by the immune system. Something triggers the sleeping virus and it spreads while the immune system does not fight it. He says the current research is discovering the true nature of the disease and these new targeted therapies is the way to the cure. He said they have already identified a few specific virus that cause specific types of cancer. Real cures are finally near.
