    Sorry to hear this.  Good

Sorry to hear this.  Good thoughts that this is not a recurrence.  Haven't heard from you in ages.  Wished your reason for posting was about one of your lovely treks to your other home in the Netherlands.  Let us know what you find out.  We are here for you.

I will be aboard the bus with yummy treats and tasty sweets.

Oh boy, Kathi, let's take a good look at that node and make sure it's nothing awful.  We'll fortify ourselves on the way to your appointment and celebrate on the way back!  And we'll all be thre together with you on Tuesday.

    I'm so Dumb*

What is the Auxillary Lymph Node?  And how do you know when it is enlarged?    Back in 2002 when I had my Lumpectomy....I took part in a Blue Dye Study they did for a few years to enable them to know about the Sentinel Node.....so perhaps I helped others...but as for me they simply scooped out some nodes under my left arm.......they got 19 in all and 6 had cancer.......so on to the chemo/radiation/blood work and great fun of seeing the Oncologist ...over and over and over.  But anyway...........I'm still here but truthfully not up on all the Medical Lingo like most of your gals are.

My Battle began in 2002 and I never got around to joining this wonderful place until 2008.......and have learned so much from all of you.     I have to take a friend to the Opthamologist tomorrow....but will be with you all in Spirit........  Prayers that it is a False Alarm*  AND ....  for Strength and Courage.  xxoo   Glo

    I thought the axillary nodes

I thought the axillary nodes was the collective group of the nodes under your arm, and the sentinal node was the one closest to the breast.  Even though my right side tested as non-invasive, my surgeon went ahead and took the sentinal node on that side, just to be sure.  It was negative.  On my left side, I was stage 3C.  He said that they have learned over the years that by only taking the first few nodes rather than doing  the entire "axillary node dissection" which is probably what you had, they can get the same results with an extra dose of radiation and decrease the chance of lymphadema by half.  I had my surgery January 15, and no sign of lymphadema.
