Hello my dear sisters, I have not posted about myself for sometime and want to update you. Still here smiling and trying hard to get better

I have had disappointing PET CT on 3/31. Then liver biopsy My pathology is back and there is no change in cancer status Er+, Pr+, Her2-negative. We also sent samples to the Foundation One and have not get results back. The reason for biopsy that all of anti estrogen regiments including, combos A/A and Palbo have been not working for me since September of 2014. Yes here we go, an estrogen resistant same old b**ch, which has estrogen receptors and does not care for estrogen. I have a port a cath surgery last Saturday and my first Halavan infusion on Tuesday (4/21). Hopefully we will get efficacy from chemo and not too much nausea and other pleasant chemo stuuf from it.

hugs and love to all

Olga

    Big hug

    coming your way.

It simply HAS to work:) That's foot stomping on my part. If a major temper tantrum would do the trick I'd throw one right in the middle of the biggest loudest most populated mall in America. I'd scream and shout and demand. Yes, demand that you get a medical miracle.

Since I control nothing, I'm sending you a huge hug and good wishes and warm thoughts and lots of love and hope, sweet hope.

    xoxo

    port o cath*

Can't remember about your port o cath Olga.....I know I kept mine in for about 6 or 7 years and then had it taken out........and they said it could not be put back in same place.   Praying that this new treatment will give you some remission and not too many side effects.  Sending you many prayers for courage and strength.....with Love..........  Glo

    Olga,
Sending hugs, love, prayers, and hope. Hopefully, this will be the tx that stops an progression and cleans up the liver! I am so glad that there are still optuons and as I recall, this was not an easy chemo but it was effective on the liver lesiins.
I wish you the best with very minimal s/e. Please keep us updated. The port should really help with the infusions.
    Hugs,
    Carol

Thank you all for positive thoughts, hugs and prayers

thank you all. Together we should make it work. I am also looking for a menus suggestion as this chemo really makes me loosing interest in food.

my first port was taken out 6 years ago after I finished my initial treatment. I was in remission for 4 years after that , then 2012 I  cancer has returned undergone treatment with oral chemo Xeloda. Honestly, to put port back and start infusion has been a very hard decision for me. I got surprised by my own feeling about quality of life, loosing hair, memories of previous chemo treatments. It does not matter how many times, or how much experience - always scary, anxious, difficult to keep your cool.

I hope to plant cucumbers this weekend and shop for appetizing food ingredients.

i value your support and love, sometime gets hard to keep going eith smile.

    love you

    A couple of suggestions?

    Дорогая Олга,

Maybe to help pique your interest in food, a stroll (гулять--I always loved that Russian word!) around Trader Joe's might help?  They always have new items, creative flavor combinations, and lots of healthy prepared items to keep in your fridge, for those times you don't feel up to cooking -- something there might look good to you?

Trader Joe's has just got back in stock the Watermelon Cucumber Cooler juice drink they had last summer.  SO refreshing, and perfect for the 90-degree weather that's in the forecast for our part of the country, no?

Also, I know you love to garden -- do you also plant fresh herbs?  They can do wonders to perk up a plain weeknight meal -- we have rosemary, thyme, mint, oregano, sage, bay, and chives in our garden.  And of course, in the summer, plenty of basil to make pesto!

Just some suggestions, and letting you know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

    Big hug to you,

    Traci

    Doggoe it!

Sorry to hear you're back on chemo.  The first go-round, we're so naive and are willing to do just about anything.  Now, of course, you know what's ahead and I'm sure you don't want to, but you will. Because - as our dear friend Chen always said "we do what we have to so we can keep doing what we want to".   I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, my friend.  Hope you can kick the stupid beast to the curb once more!

    Hugs,

    I'm so sorry Olga

that you are going through this all over again.  It is so difficult, and angst causing.  I hope that by planting cucumbers you were able to keep your cool and enjoy the weekend.  Keep taking those long walks and try to keep your chin up.  As much as I can completely understand the dread you are feeling about starting up chemo again, I'm hoping that this particular chemo will be your silver bullet.  We're here for you.

    Vicki,

Thank you for checking on  me.  Could you share a little more bout your new picture.

I had a blood transfusion 10 days ago due to low RBC, and hemoglobin. Blood transfusion itself vent well. I recovered ok, however my today's blood test did not show a significant improvement. My platelets are very low and Halaven infusion was cancelled. I will have another blood work on Friday to see if I need a transfusion again. Cancer is sucks for sure

Olga - You are in my heart, and prayers everyday ..

New photo is me - giving my granddaughter, Paulina a bath.  She is 10 months old.  When I married my husband, Pete, he had a son Peter from his first marriage (9 years old) .. whom I call my BONUS son.

So now Peter has married a gal from Armenia - and this is their daughter - my grand baby.  Of course, I am known and call "GLAM-MA" - hahaha.   Joy Joy Joy .. Nadia, my daughter in law speaks to Paulina in Russian - awesome to see our little one becoming bilingual.  I speak to Paulina in broken Russian, and English - she just laughes at me.  So blessed, and believe me enjoying every moment.

I pray, and hope for better days ahead for you - and plead to our Lord that this current round of chemo - will KILL the beast in you, once and for all.

Continued health, magic sprinkles that any side efforts from Chemo - are limited, and mild.  You INSPIRE so many - our Quiet and Sweet WARRIOR.

    Love you - Olga!
