I had cancerous tumors in left breast and DCIS in right breast so I had a genetic test. Add a genetic mutation to the mix so I had a bilateral mastectomy. In addition I had a total hysterectomy. Test results came back with negative nodes. Also had an estrogen sensitive cancer. Just got results of oncotype back and I am a 37 in the high risk category. My oncologist recommended 4 chemo rounds. My radiologist is also recommending radiation of left area. Am in the midst of breast reconstruction. Is there anyone out there with a similar history?

    Same situation

Hi, I had almost the same situation with some differences.  BRCA1 positive.  IDC in left breast, very large tumor.  Neoadjuvent chemo. 4 rounds.  Bilateral. Radiation. Hysterectomy. Diep flap reconstruction.  Some scares but no recurrence that I know of almost 5 yrs later.

    Best of luck,

    Sharon

    I had hysterectomy due to

I had hysterectomy due to abnormal cells that were pre-cancerous - we'd tried several times removing areas and I'd had enough - said take it.  Ended up taking my ovaries as well  - once they got in there things were different than they thought.   Fast forward 4 yrs and I have IDC Stage3B  -8.5 CM w nodes   8 rounds of Chemo - then double mastectomy with node removal on right side - Follow up with 33 rounds of radiation.   I also have mutated gene.     2 months after radiation ended - had 1st colonoscopy - removed 2 polyps  - one of which caused concern as it was still "pre-cancerous" but large.
