Hi everyone!  I know I fell off the forum for a bit post treatment  trying to recoup from all I had been through.  For those who don't remember me or have come on board recently...... I have the same story as most here regarding how my cancer was discovered.  The hemmorrhoid that no one paid much attention too until it bled, became obstructive or just simply discovered incindentally finally caught the docs attention enough to send me to a colo-rectal surgeon.

At that point it took less than a 10 minute exam to diagnose anal cancer.  From that moment  the race was on to "stage my cancer" and get me set up for radiation and chemo.  Pet scans, MRI,CT scan, and anoscopes.

In the end I was: T4  N2  M0   STAGE IIIb with lymph node involvement.  Needless to say I felt my world had turned upside down

The jouney began and it was a rocky one for me as I had several hospitalizations along the way.  One was a gallbladder flare up from the chemo which cost me a few days in the hospital .  Near the end my blood counts got so low that I was put in the hospital in  protective isolation until my counts came up.   Then right at the end of my treatment i was walking down some stairs at home and decided to slip and fall on my newly radiated bum....  But the good news is that I made it through no worse for wear.  If you are just starting your journey like me,,,,,you will make it!!!!!!!

So here I am!!!!  Now finished all of it!!!!!!!!!!   The best part is that I just had my post three month

PET/CT, MRI and anoscope ,

I am happy to announce that I have entered the  NED CLUB !!!!!!!!LaughingKissLaughingSmile

    3B NED

So happy for you! Doesn't everything seem more beautiful? The air smells sweeter, the coffee never tasted so good and every day is a new gift!

I am a little over a year NED, 3B with nodal involvement. Energy is back, my running distance is slowly getting back to two miles and I've got great hair!

You kicked anal cancer in the butt!

Thank you all for the well

    Kiss

Thank you all for the well wishes and virtual hugs.    Just having a group that understands what you have been through is a blessing and the biggest support one could have during our journey.  Yes everything was brighter and clearer after my NeD proclamation.  Just like posted above...... Each milestone is important to focus on with the next leg of my walk with this beast.   I read the schedule for the next years and it is :  every 3 months x 2 years for MRI and anoscope.....then every 6 months x 2 year .....then every year x 4 years

so yes every one of those will mark a moment of anxiety as I await scans and results over and over again.   But the bottom line for me is that I am alive and have time to live life to the fullest as much as I can for as long as I can

I feel fortunate that I am back at work full time   Pretty much back to my pre treatment physical and energy level   And this is where the Lord blessed me.  I won't deny that my stamina is a little slower catching up but it is getting better.   So far I pretty much eat what I want but being careful with heavy fiber and raw veggies.  I am trying to be careful reintroducing some foods .  I have had no diarreha mostly try to stay ahead of constipation with stool softness   Which seems to be working.

So so thank you each and everyone for being in my corner these past few months
