Last chemo and I'm done!!!!

Hello my lymphoma friends,

just wanted to share the exciting news about finishing my last chemo treatment # 12 yesterday and I can't stop feeling excited and happy but at the same time somehow emotional. I'm still under the effect of steroids which are not helping my excitement to go away. I woke up at 3 this morning and couldn't fall back asleep. I've been trying to take a nap for the last couple of hours but no progress!

Now I'm waiting for the bad days to pass by quickly so I can finally start feeling alive and normal again. I've learNed allot over the last  few months and I will treasure every day so much more, I will try to be more selfish and take better care of myself, I will travel and try to do something that scares me at least once in a while. No one knows what tomorrow holds for us and the past is gone so we should all focus on today and now. I'm so happy I'll finally get to spend more time with my son and give him all my attention and stop feeling guilty. I am very grateful to have such a wonderful husband who was with me every step of the way, supported me and made me laugh when I needed , encouraged and stayed strong for me, was besides me during my chemo sessions and never complained. Also my family who helped and checked on me daily. I finished my book "Cancer for $5 a Day" and it was like closing a chapter in my own life. It'a a funny book that made me laugh and also feel sorry for the poor guy when he described his worst moments during his chemo treatment. I'm glad I joined this forum and got to meet so many wonderful and inspiring people like you. This helped me more than I could've imagined.

I'm seeing my doctor on January 5th and then we should schedule my port removal and order the PET scan in two to three months. I already think I'm cancer free and have been thinking like that for a while now but I  surely want that scan result to say the same.

    Hi Lifeisbeautiful,

    Congratulations to finishing your chemo!

Your disease has helped you find that family is the most important thing in life, just as I found it.

I wish you health and happiness!

    Thinking of you too

We are very happy for you.  We know what a happy feeling it is, but also understand the anxiousness of it.  You are young, it is so much easier to stay in total remission, so on with life and we hope your it remains truly beautiful.

    Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words. At the same time as I'm enjoying the fact that there will be no more chemos to come, I've had the worst days so far but I know it will all be over soon.....

I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and cancer free New Year!
