Cryoablation done.

Had cryo on the 2 remaining spots on Monday. It was brutal over 4 hours. The liver tumor was very close to the bowel and doudenum. So they injectedsaline into the abdomen to seperate the organs and reduce the risk of damage. Than they flipped me over to do the chestwall tumor on my back which is just centimeters from my spine and was putting presure on an intercostal nerve.

The good news is think think they got all of both tumors without any collateral  damage. At first the paint wasnt bad but the second day was unreal. The stabbing pains in my liver were worse than pain from liver surgery. The doctor said it was from post treatment swelling. I worked almost a full day today. I would say I am back to 75% of where I was before the proceedure. I will do a scan in a month and see the doctor to review and see for sure if  they got it all. If not he will touch up with either more cryo or IRE (Nanoknife). The good news is that the liver tumor borders on last weeks scan were ill defined which is a good sign that it is more dead cancer cells that the immune system hasnt disposed of from the y90. This would suggest that the tumor was smaller than the reading which gives us a better shot at 100% success.

    Great to hear from you...

and to know that all went well, albeit rough going.

Please don't over-do it.  When I had my ablation, I wanted to get right out and about, and got the biggest telling off from my surgeon's nurse, that I've had in a long time. She said regardless of the fact that it was an out-patient surgery, it was still dealing with the liver (my tumour was burried deep), and I needed to take it easy for at least a week or two.

Anyway, thats my advice. Take it easy. Recover. Get yourself back to being NED.

It is SOOOO good to hear from you.

    Bad and Good

Sounds like you had a bad time getting through all that but the good news is it sounds pretty darn good considering all that you have been through.  Wishing you a speedy recovery and don't work so hard - you need to make sure you take care of yourself.  Let's see 100% in the near future.  What an awesome New Year that would be Laughing.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you won't have to face any more of this crap.  You've done enough for a lifetime and then some.

    The options didnt come easy.

The options didnt come easy. It took 16 rounds of chemo. 1 radioembolization and 10 months of see doctors and hospitals across our great country and i will continue to search for options. For now I hope I can fall in a groove of waiting for the next attack cancer mounts on me so I can couterattack with cryo or nanoknife while minimizing or putting chemo on the back shelf for now. We will see what my oncologist thinks Monday.
