Bone pain

in Breast Cancer #1

I'm new to this forum and new to bone mets. Anyone have any suggestions for bone pain (mainly in sacrum area). It's not bad pain, just an achyness that gets worse as the day goes on. Haven't started chemo yet, so hoping that will help shrink the area ( the met is about 1.4 cm), but don't know if I can expect that or not.

    i have bone Mets in multiple areas since 2012. I had Chemo xeloda then Faslodex. I am also on injections Xgeva. Bones can heal and become stable. Good luck with your treatment and stay connected. It does help

    Always hope not to get the METS..........so far have not but each test could change all that.

    I do know I had lots of bone pain during chemo..........and now I think some of my bone pain has to be Old Age and possible Arthritis....but each pain you always wonder.

    Prayers for you for good results with your treatment.  Lots of gals on here can share with you about their Mets.   I hope I never get them but they keep looking .......   Stay Strong.

    I have had the best luck with

    I have had the best luck with Naproxen 500mg.  Of course at times, they have done radiation and that helped when it was SO severe.  I hope the Naproxen will help you!  They have been using Cymbalta with me too.  It can be used for pain and is very effective.

    Good luck with your chemo!  The worst part is the few hours before it!  :)  Try not to let your brain freak you out!

    Bone pain

    had my first chemo on 12/8 and Neulasta shot following day. Experienced a lot of bone pain from the shot and started running a fever that night. I don't know, maybe the pain was from the fever. Ended up in ER. They thought I had a kidney infection so put me on antibiotics. Next day, severe diarrhea started. Tried to sweat it out, but once again ended up in ER. Was admitted because of dehydration and they thought maybe I had c. diff. Thank God that wasn't true. My onco discharged me the next day. She didn't want me in the hospital unless absolutely necessary. She put me on tincture of opium and that has stopped the diarrhea. 

    so, didn't exactly have a smooth start, but figure I got it all over with at once, so the rest will be smooth sailing!

    Fever from Chemo

    I have had fever from Chemo itself (Taxotere/Cytoxan). that was a reaction to a fast infusion, after that we did slow dripping and it did help. I try to avoid ER and hospital as much as possible.  they try to treat us without even consider medical history. Drink a lot of water for next treatment. Hopefully it will be easy in the future.
