Metastasis(RCC) to axillary lymph nodes

Options

Has anyone heard of distant metastasis to Axillary lymph nodes(under armpit) from RCC. From what I've read it's extremely rare.

mass in axillary lymph nodes detected

Was just askin because my father goes to urologist tomorrow and is gettin biopsy results for small lump found under armpit. I thought this would be more common for breast cancer to spread there. I guess I'll find out soon enough, I was just hopin this mass is benign and was tryin to talk myself out of it being cancer. I've found very little  literature on the spread of RCC to axillary lymphnodes, quite rare actually. If it is, it's Stage 4 as a result of distant mets. I find it kinda strange since  it's not in lungs (negative chest X-ray), but yet would move to the other side of the body under the arm pit.

I had a core biopsy today of

I had a core biopsy today of a very large axilla node (3.57 cm).  The dr said it's possible it's an RCC met, but most likely breast cancer.  I'm not too excited for either diagnoses.  Please don't worry until you know the results though.  A lot of times they're reactive changes or imflammation.

    Axillary nodes update

Some not so good news regarding the axillary nodes biopsy. Turns out it was indeed the renal cell cancer present in that node. However, this was pretty much removed when they did the core biopsy, but the fact that it was there renders my father stage 4. So I guess the battLe begins. He is scheduled to have the kidney removed this Tuesday. He will then start Sutent and go in clinical trial for dendritic cell. Appreciate the positivity folks!

This looks like a super promising clinical trial

Wow. I just read the Phase II results of this clinical trial. Very impressive results. The use of a vaccine for immunotherapy facinates me.
