Liver resection went great!

Thank you everyone for your prayers, good vibes and well wishes, the surgery went off without a hitch and I'm doing fine. The docs are very happy, good margins (they check before they close me up- I didn't know that,) only 1 met and no other concerns when they poked around. I have an epidural in now, IV Tylenol and oxycodone (my personal favorite!) for pain so I'm pretty comfortable. I want to say again thank you for your support, I didn't feel alone on that table and that means a lot to me. I even dreamt last night walking my daughter down the aisle at her wedding! That's a good sign however the groom was not her current boyfriend whom I'm not crazy about and she wasn't too happy about that! Ha!

Thanks again,

Richard/ Easyflip

    Great news!

So glad to hear surgery went well.

And that dream is funny!  I have the sneaking feeling that it's going to come true!

Oh btw, I found that term I mentioned, for a situation like yours with only one met.  It's called

    Oligometastasis.

It's considered a curative subset of the stage 4 population.

    Big hugs!  AA

Yay, so glad surgery went well.  I also have had only 1 liver met 2 years 4 months ago and so far I have stayed NED.  You will be walking your daughter down the aisle, she just hasn't met the groom yet, lol.  Take care, surgery over, time for recovery.

    Great tI read this wonderful

Great tI read this wonderful update. I hope the epidural works as well as it did on me and pain remains minimal. Now remember to do the breathing exercises -- I know from experience how important that simple exercise is. And walk walk walk as much as you can. :-)

    That's great news Richard.

That's great news Richard. Thanks for posting so soon. You posting the following day from liver surgery tells me you are doing very well. I know after 3 liver surgeries of my own.

    So happy

Boy those medication dreams are like revelations!  I'm so happy everything went well. Clear margins are always a good thing. I'll stop the dancing but keep up the prayers and chicken swinging.

    Great news!

AA is right.  One met is very good for prognosis.  I had the same thing but in the lung.  You'll be walking your daughter down the aisle - hopefully with someone you're happy to "give" her away to.  Now rest up.
