    Gabapentin vs. Lyrica

    Hi Susan,

I've been on Gabapentin 3x300mg daily for peripheral neuropathy for a few months, then stopped taking it and never been on Lyrica.

Here's a link to user reviews of Lyrica; some people claim that it helped them better than Gabapentin.

    Gabapentin/lyrica

Hi Susan, I am a pharmacist and a OC patient. My advice would be take either the gabapentin or the lyrica, but not both. I've had patients say good things about both meds, but usually if the gabapentin doesn't work, the doctors try lyrica.  So hopefully the lyrica will work better for you. Vickie

    Gabapentin> Lyrica thanks Vickie

Vickie I had two pharmacists say - just to stop Gaba & start
lyrica - so did not have to wean from Gaba which is what I did I was only on 300 x4/ day of Gaba.

I'm oon several Neurologic drugs so need to make sure I do them right -- possible seizures concern me-- baclofen for stroke tone & celexa for deprerssion.

    no wonder I'm fatigued

    Gabapentin >Lyrica

Hi all - just a quick up0date.  I was on a low dose of Lyrica for about a month 2 x 75 mg/day not only did I not feel any better.  It was like it wasn't helping at all - it did tell me the Gaba may have been working better than I thought. I'm back on my Gaba 3 x 300 mg/ day- it does take the edge off and as I try to tell myself trading the Ca for nerve pain is a no brainer. Just FYI

    Gabapentin

I have been taking Gabapentin 2yrs after having RUL removed. Since taking it I have fell broke my foot twice, broke my ankle and 6 ribs. I tried to get my oncologist to switch me to Lyrica  but, he refused. He is now going to send me to a pain clinic for a nerve block. This medication is awful and it also affects your memory. Best of luck to you guys.
