What would you say to a billionaire

What would you say to a billionaire who just got diagnosed???

I thought about this. At first of course I would wish him health and a speedy recovery. Then what???

What would I really say after having lived with this for 15 years

Would I tell him how many on this site have survived only to lose everything that they have worked for.

Would I tell about the hardships our caregivers went through?

Would I tell him about the long term effects and the cost of dental care??

Would I ask for money?

Would I want another foundation that only caress about raising money for their next event?

I was just thinking because what would I say???

    wrhbounds,

Boy this post hit a soft spot for me.  I agree with the many foundations (more being added daily) point you brought up.  I truely think that rich or poor, no body deserves or wants this kind of dx ever.  And a little part of who we are or should I say were is taken away from us.  You yourself are way ahead of me as far as living 15 yrs. with this demon dog.

I would hope and pray rich or poor, this person would become a strong advocate to stomp out cancer.  Education is lacking as a whole for many dx's....which I find absolutely insane in the yr. 2014.  And compassion for families (individuals) income wise is very limited for daily living expenses...house payments, car insurance, food (ect).  It is a much neglected and needed area of concern that needs to be addressed by some of these foundations.

Good post, made me think....which lately I haven't been very good at.  Our family as have many have been dealing with cancer since 1955.  (that has personally impacted our lives and changed our perspective).  3 with different H/N dx's 1 ovarian, in my own family....4 out of 8, who'd a thunk it ?  Hugs sent !  Katie

    Ask Steve Jobs...

...as the founder and CEO of Apple he had more money than God. One of the most intellectual and influential pioneers of the entire computer revolution. Unfrotunately for him his Dx of pancreatic cancer has one of the poorest recovery rates of them all. Inspite of that he had a form that was described as the most treatable and survivable of all pancreatic presentations...and inspite of his vast wealth and intellect he put off treatment and surgery for nine months, before finally accepting the chemo/rad/surgery route, to pursue various alternative methods that came back to haunt him in what his attending oncologist basically said amounted to committing suicide...

The beast certainly doesn't discriminate nor care about monetary, societal, enviromental, racial, ideological makeups. Age, sex, height, weight, nothing matters. All these variables introduce different elements to the mix, but in the end the beast is an equal opportunity ravager of the human form, spirit, and soul...

    Jamie Dimon

He's the CEO of JPMorgan Chase Manhattan, the largest bank in the USA, and was recently diagnosed with "throat cancer." His net worth is a mere $400,000,000, so he doesn't qualify. Sloan-Kettering is where his treatment of C&R is going to take place. Same place Michael Douglas got treated, I think.
