Hello everyone

Just a little update. The bit c h is back, while stable is gone . I always think of  BC as a sneaky a lewd, immoral woman, who seeks attention, tries stilling  our dreams, takes away our pink ssters and brothers

I received disappointing results of my latest scan on Friday. There are 2 new FDG-avid lesions: one on the left acetabulum and the other in the L5. One of the old lesions had become active too

Honestly these news are hard to swallow  for both my husband. Questions like  "why us  again and so soon,  why being stable only for about 12 months?" have been popping up  over and over ...

I talked to two doctors . On Friday I saw Dr Finn yesterday,  who associated with CDK 4/6 drug development and on Saturday to my oncologist of four years, who is currently on FMLA as her parent has been undergoing cancer treatment,

There is a consensus - we will try more anti-estrogen therapy to see if we can control situation
I started Femara on Sunday

Consultation with an orthopedic surgeon, making sure my hip is structurally sound
Consultation with radiation oncologist after discussion with orthopedic surgeon, probably to do radiation for pain management.

if i will be able to tolerate both continue Faslodex and Xgeva (I got injections my regular before PET results discussion)

Emotionally, I am much better today than I was on Saturday. I am dusting off my boxing gloves, ready for another round, back to the ring and still very hopeful

PS Dr Finn expects accelerated  approval for CDK 4/6 which is developed by Pfizer.

Hugs and I'll see you on July 12th

    #!@#$%^

I'm really really sorry to hear you're back in the ring again.  I hope the Femara will starve the cells into oblivion and you become stable once again and quickly.

    Olga,
The BI t ch may be back, but keep hoping only for a short visit. Hoping that Femara works well for you and the little beast is gone for a lot longer this time. Sometimes it is really hard to keep HOPE and Faith but in reality, it is prayer, faith and hope that keeps me going. It is always easier when the pain is managed.... and radiation therapy has really helped me for periods of time with the pain.
Looking forward to meeting you on the 12th
    Hugs,
    Carol

Oh s#@t!!!!! This sucks. But I love your attitude (perhaps because it is shared by me.. lol).  Give yourself a day or so to bawl your eyes out and then, get back in the ring, and give the B a beating!  Sending hugs and prayers and lots and lots of love!  PM me if I can do anything!!!

Know That I'm in Your Corner

    Dear Olga,

I certainly understand how you feel in receiving the news and in the length of time.  Taxol only lasted 12 months with me and before that Faslodex only last 12 months.  I wanted longer, like you.

Excited that the CDK 4/6 might be escalated.

In the meantime, dust those boxing gloves and fight back.

    Best to you,

    Doris

Thank you thank you thank you for your support

Being at my corner giving a hand cheering for me.

cancer is sucks, its never easy, weather first, second, third ...always hoping to knockdown cancer forever

thank you an inspiration I learnt so much from all of you.

i got two doctor's opinions. They both similar - stay with anti estrogen therapy for now. Sometime I feel Femara is too weak.

i wish I could take a tape recorder to my doctor,s office. I need to listen doctor's comments Every day. I have to use pain patches.

My husband is feeling better, my son is cluelessly optimistic, eventually My vegetable plants are growing, I am going to dye my hair and looking forward to a long weekend.

    Happy 4th of July everyone

Let those little vegetable plants give you hope!

    Дорогая Олга,

While none of this is news you want to, or should, have to deal with yet again, and I'm so sorry you're in pain on top of everything else...I was happy to hear you have a vegetable garden.

Gardens are such symbols of hope and renewal and looking toward the future.  There's something inspiring about watching a new seedling poke out of the ground, or coming outside in the morning to find the first zucchini blossoms of the summer.

There's a hymn we sing at church about saying "yes to life" -- I think a garden helps you do that.

So enjoy yours, and let it give you hope and courage!

Big hug to you (sorry to get you a little dirty, but I've been out in my garden!) Smile
