Trouble With Newcomers & the Chat Room

I have noticed with the change of format in the chat room with leaving previous chat visible for people who enter the room at a later time, newcomers to CSN are getting confused because they see chat going on in the room and assume there are people in the room chatting. They obvious aren't looking at the right hand side of the screen to see no one is in the room.

Here is a timestamp of a recent issue of this. There was conversation from the previous night left on the screen and someone entered the room this morning and tried chatting, not noticing that the times of the previous chats were 8 hours before.

Hi Cinnamonsmile,

Thank you so much for pointing this out! We have edited the instructions above the chat window to give the link to the FAQ page. Also, we added more information on how to use the chat. We appreciate you sticking with us while we work out the kinks, and will continue to consider everyone's feedback as we begin to add more features.

Thanks!

Nick

I see its not just the n ewcomers, but old timers are doing the same thing. They see chat going on the room from previous time stamps and assume those people are in the room even if they aren't. They aren't looking to the side column to see if anyone is in the room.
