I had my port installed last friday and I had my chemo treatment on tuesday.  I am on Gemzar and I will get 3 cycles of 3 weeks on and 1 week off with a total of 9 treatments.  Then at the end of August I will be retested to see how the chemo is working.  I had a bone scan yesterday and I will find out the results of that on tuesday when I go to chemo.  My side effects so far have been tiredness, a few body aches and a low grade fever of 99.5.  I am taking tylenol and benadryl as directed by the oncologist.

Hugs to all my Pink Sisters

Good luck with your new Chemo

Hopefully it already has been working and your side effects will stay minimal. Let's hope everything will work out well and your next scan will show improvement and remission. Your doctor has moved very fast which is a very good sign.

    Port put in

Hello Mommaellen.   I know that having chemo is not easy. But having a port put in makes it a lot more tolerable. I have loved mine ever since I got it. One thing to ask if they do not do it is ask them to use that cold or numbing spray on it first before they start with your IV. This helps alot with the pain. Cannot even fell it being connected. Hope you are doing well as expected.    Hugs,  Donna
