Hello all,

I was reading some of the posts, and i felt the need to write this post for :Shearbear, KarenSuki, Robyn64 and Donka.. all of the 4 are starting treatments, and new things, it must have been really hard to start new thing in life especially when its not a nice thing.

Since i haven't started any treatment yet, but i am getting ready for a surgery, I thought of you guys, and i feel i will get my strength from you, because you are new to all of this just like me.

I want to wish you good luck in your treatments and ask you to keep on smiling, and kick the stupid cancer in the ****.

Prayers for all.

Goyca.

    Thank you

Thank you Goyca for your post , thinking of us. I really appeciate it , more than you know, I went to the dentist today to see if any teeth were coming out and thankfully I get to keep my teeth.

I too wish you the very best as you also take this strange and sometimes scarey journey. I hear so many times , stay positive, but Im still trying to, hard to stay on top of things at times and just do.

My treatment starts on the 23rd.

Take care Goyca and all the best to you xxx

    Robyn

    It is true....

that all of you starting together will get strength from one another...."busmates".  I still feel very tight with the people who went through treatment with me.

I'm glad the teeth are fine :) lol

I know words like "stay positive" are easier said but hard to do. But I think the more you say those positive things its like a reminder... Keep on trying Robyn never give up

    The Bus

Shearbear, KarenSuki, Robyn64 and Donka and Goyca

The Bus P51 spoke of was a very good thing for her and the others, and I would encourage y'all to make this your bus trip together. I'm over 5-years out and to the good, now, and progress has been made in H&N tx- that is a good thing for all of you. Still, though, it is no walk in the park...Be open with your Drs on how you are physically handling it, as they only will know what you tell them about your struggle. And keep your mindset in the Positive, because you will survive this, as we all do the first bout with C- yep, you're gonna survive this thing, so get used to it:

    Believe

this post is also to all

this post is also to all you starting your tx very soon.  i just want to say i will be praying for each of you and let you all know that we will be here for you whenever you need us.  if you listen real hard, you will hear us on the sidelines cheering for you!    we are here for the good times and bad so don't forget that.  once you get started it will go by rather quickly and you will be ringing the bell to indiciate completion.  we will be here waiting.

guzzle, so glad you are almost done and are ready to ring the bell. you seem to have done exceptionally well with tx.  you're great encouragement to those just starting.  thank you for sharing.

    God bless you all,

    dj

    Treatment

    All

as you know Ive just finished. If I can do it anyone can . Keep your pecker up as we say in the UK and let me know if my recent experience can help in any small way. I still have a way to go yet but I can honestly say that so far the treatment has not been as bad as I feared. Good Luck, G.

    OMG!

What does that mean in the UK? maybe you should read the American dictionary as it applies to only half the population. LOL

LOLOLOL Don, I have a good friend from the UK

and the first time she ever said "keep your pecker up" we all died laughing.....like.....we're all girls!  It means stay strong.....don't lose heart.....don't give in.  It doesn't phase me anymore when she says it, but I SO remember the first time she did.

I think it started with one half and the other half liked it and henceforth adopted it! G.

    The bus is rolling

    Thanks Goyca,

I wish you, Bunnymom, Shearbear, KarenSuki and Robyn64 all the best with your treatments, too!  Mine started a couple days earlier than I had expected.  Had my first radiation appointment on May 29th and have now had 7 tx's so far.  I am starting to develop what I can only really describe as a big lump in my throat that I can feel when I swallow.  It's not too bad, at this point it's mostly an unsettling feeling every time I swallow, like there's something caught in there.  I'm also developing a rectangular suntan on my neck already.  Not sure if that's normal this early on but I'm pretty fair skinned, though I don't know if that makes a difference.

So far, so good I guess :)  I just hope this lump in my throat doesn't get so big I can't eat, but just in case I have not been skimping on foods I would normally be a lot more moderate with, like chips, crackers and lots of cheese.  Put on about 4 lbs. so far and think I'll go back to eating like I normally do, that should add enough buffer room for now, plus all my pants are getting tight :)

Thanks so much to everyone out there, your stories are so helpful and inspirational, and good luck to everyone else starting out, the bus is rollin' and we can do this!
