Hello All,

Please forgive me if I have posted any of this before. My mind remains in a whirlwind.

I am leaving in a couple of weeks to stay with my daughter for a month or more. I have sadly completed the sale of our cabin and after taking care of major financial issues here, will be on my way. She is not doing well. She's in "screaming" pain as she describes it and has seen a pain mgmt. specialist. More pain meds and a new fentanyl patch have been added to no avail. She and her hubby have decided to meet with a hospice rep next week. She had resisted this idea as we all know that the word "hospice" has always had a certain stigma attached to it. I have finally gotten her to understand that it does not signify the end, only a means to get additional assistance and meds in a more timely fashion. I hope this works out well for her. She has had the wound vac removed as it was contributing to the pain. She still has an open wound which we hope will heal, in time.

Please save some prayers for Johnnybegood. She has been through so much.

Luv,

Wolfen

    As I've said many times

I'm so glad for JBG, that her mom can be with her.....and glad that you are finally able to get away and be with her, too.....you two need to be around each other.  Mother's comfort goes a long way.

It makes me sad that she is in so much pain....I'm sending prayers that they can get this under control with the pain management team.....Gawd knows she's been through hell and back a half dozen times......she's way tougher than I am.

    So sorry

So  sorry to hear this news.  JBG has had a long, hard fight.  So glad to hear that you will be able to go to her.  Mom's are the best medicine.  Prayers that the pain can be controlled.

oh, wolfen, i'm so sorry jbg

oh, wolfen, i'm so sorry jbg is in so much pain.  like p said, jbg has been to hell and back a few times.  i'm praying the pain comes under control and that she can start to feel decent.  what a blessing that you get to go be with her.  there's no care like our mother's care.  being cared for by mom is the best meds.  please let us know how she does once hospice arrives and can do more for the pain.  saying prayers for all of you.  i'm sorry you had to sell your cabin, that must have been hard on you.  i wish i could be there for both of you.  sending you both some really big and tight hugs (((((  0  ))))), i hope you can feel them.

    God bless you,

    dj

    Your daughter

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter but know she will be glad to see you.  Please tell her hospice does not necessary mean the end is near.   My husband has been on in-home hospice since September 2013 and have been told they could possibly discharge him, which I don't see because he is slowing going downhill.  I know how hard this past year or two has been for you and hope that you are taking care of yourself.

Wishing you and your family peace and comfort -- Sharon

    Goodspeed on your new journey

Thank you for the update. I only wish it was better news but it is great you can journey to be with her and offer support and comfort during her battle. I too wish her only the best outcomes. As you say hospice does NOT mean the end, just extra support. There are many who have benefited from that extra help and living well again.  Best to you all, Don
