New to the network

I just joined the cancer network because Phil64 encouraged me to do so.  Thank you Phil.  I am almost two years into my journey with stage IV colon cancer.  So far, I have managed just fine, but I decided that I could use some support from those of you who actually understand as only a patient can.    I probably won't " talk " much, but I will be an active member in my own way.  Thanks to all of you in advance.

    Welcome

    Hi Lisa,

I too am glad that Phil encouraged you to join and that you did.  Needless to say we all wish there was not a need for this site but are very glad to have it.

You will find not only patients but also care givers who post here.  Sharing information and offering support are what we do.

I hope that you will find a benifit from joining our "virtual family".

    Welcome - Lisa

Nice to meet you.....but sorry you are here.

I am a stage 3b signet cell at just 2 years NED.  I was Dx'ed at 49 - so I get it all too well.

This forum has been an wonderful tool helping me navigate this disease.

I though I was the only signet cell in the world, not so there were many on this site already.  We are able to share information, encouragement, a "shoulder" to lean on with people that really understand what cancer does to your whole life (body, mind, family and spirit).

I am so glad Phil got you to join, he is a great source of strength for alot of us on this site.

Let us know how you are doing.  You would be surprised how many on the site are very similar to you.

We are all here to help and support!

    Welcome to the forum, Lisa!

As I'm sure you already know, we're the club no one wants to join, but what the heck...if you have to take the cancer journey, you might as well do it with some nice fellow travelers.  Hopefully, we can provide you with any support you might need, and you may find that your two years of experience makes you something of a veteran, able to help other "newbies" as they join us.  You might find yourself talking more than you expect (and I hope you do, the more the merrier)!

    Hugs~Ann Alexandria

Welocme to a group of wonderful folks, most who have never met in person, but are good friends. Here, I have found support, information, understanding, and a soft place to land during this challenging journey.

Even in the middle if the night, I can log in and find a post that seems to provide just what I need.

You are already seasoned in living with this disease and have much to offer so chime in whenever you feel like it.  Your quiet presence is always welcome, too.

Sorry you have to be here, but glad you have found support.

I am not a patient, but I provide compassion, support, and knowledge from the perspective of having been the caregiver for my husband who passed away this last May five years after his cancer diagnosis.  We all help in our own way here, are a diverse group, and you may ask any question ... someone will always respond.  Phil 64 is a sweet man and I especially like that he is a fellow Michigander, perhaps you are as well!

Peace and strength to you. ~ Cynthia

Cynthia,   Thank you.   I need the caregiver perspective because many of my worries are for my husband and my parents, three of my main supporters.   My kids are both in college so at home it is just my husband and me.   I love MI, but I hail from northern IL.

    Welcome  Lisa.  Very smart

Welcome  Lisa.  Very smart move to join CSN.  I'm sure you will have no regrets.  I was a caregiver to my husband who passed away six months ago.  These guys here at CSN are stuck with me as I've met so many nice people here that I can't stay away.  Looking forward to getting to know you.  Seems like you have been very successful with managing your cancer and I'm sure you have a lot to offer to others who are currently in the battle.

Lisa, I'm happy to see you found the discussion group. Like everyone has said, you will surely find this a valuable place to learn and vent and share. There are many of us all fighting the colorectal cancer battle and this is a place that you will surely hear from others who truly understand what you are facing. Love and Light to you today! Hi, Lisa!

I'm glad to meet you, although it would be nice if it was not because we both are cancer survivors!
