I have been having a conversation with Iceman about our similar-looking pets, and I thought it might be a nice, lighthearted topic for the rest of the board.  Tell us about your pet!

This is my Hugh Jackman.  He came to live with us the day I learned I had cancer.  Didn't need a dog; wasn't looking for a dog; can't say I really wanted a dog.  But what a joy and a blessing and a distraction and a reason to get up everyday!  Can't imagine the past year without his funny, faithful, fluffy lovin' !!

    I don't have a pet right now.

My beloved Fifty-fifty died July 2, 2011 after helping me through treatment in 2010.  I miss him so much especially as I go through treatment again.  Although I would love another cat, I am reluctant to get another because it is so nice not to have hair everywhere and no litter box to clean.  I also do not want to go through the heartache of loss although at this age and condition a pet may easily outlive me.  I have had many dogs and dozens of cats (not an exaggeration) earning the knickname "catwoman" as a child.

I will enjoy reading about all of your pets.

    I love my goldendoodles!

Pupcake (named by my then 12 year old daughter) is almost 8 and Baloo almost 3. They weigh about 40 lbs and don't shed. They  snuggle with me on the couch when I watch TV and love to hang outside checking out everyone who walks by.  They've gotten me through some really difficult times with their unconditional love!

I can't figure out how to put their pictures up...the upload keeps failing. I'll keep trying. They look a little like your dog, Wholfmeister, but bigger and white.

    Including photos in your post

Alexandra shared these instructions back in March.  I couldn't have figured it out without her help!

    (1) Picture size needs to be under 150 pixels, larger pictures sometimes get re-formatted and rotated. Right click on your picture, edit size to under 150 pixels and save somewhere on your hard drive (desktop?)

    (2) From the body of the post click on the "Insert/Edit Image" (icon that looks like a little tree), click on "Image URL", click "Upload", click "Browse", select the picture you previously saved, click "Upload", click "Insert file". At this point you can add image title and description. Then click "Insert", click "OK" and you are done.

    (3) You can add as many pictures as you want by repeating (2). You can also re-size, move, copy, paste and delete pictures from inside the post.

    Have fun!!!

    Marley, my English Golden Retriever

sadly passed away in April, just shy of his 13th b-day. He was my constant buddy, lying next to me as I recovered from each and every chemo. Our house just isn't the same without a hairy, shedding, licking and loveable ball of fur. So.... seven years into my cancer diagnosis, we're getting a new puppy from the same breeder in Ohio. I know this is crazy, but I feel like an expectant parent. Who really needs their floors to be clean enough to eat off of?

    Ducks

My daughter was given Easter ducks several years when she was little.  She loved raising them, and was always very brave when we took them to the lake to be free.  There were always ducks at the lake, so she always thought whatever ducks we saw there were her ducks.  I suppose that lie will be exposed someday.....

    Oops, I'm Low-Tech

I think I should have shrunk the picture but glad it got posted.  Mr. Kitty has lived with my hubby and me for about nine years.  He was a stray who adopted us and he is laid-back, spoiled, and king of the house.

I lost my beautiful dog Fern on April 8 this year, she was 14.  All the family miss her terribly and she really helped me through all my treatments etc.   We feel it is now time to get a new dog and we are hopefully getting a black labrador puppy (born 2 weeks ago) at the beginning of August - i am beyond excited. Will try and upload pics :))
