I have limited funds so any ideas where I can buy this the cheapest? I am burnt till I am raw and bleeding I see the doctor tomorrow I was supose to go today, but it was changed till tomorrow.. I am going to ask him about using this cream Miaderm. I have been using another one its white and dries hard on my skin comes off on everything and hasn't helped a whole lot just a little.  It's called Silver Sulfadiazine. Thanks for any help. Everyone is so wonderful on here and gives great advice. If I can get this cream I may finish up. Depending on the doctors view. Thank you again. I pray everyone is doing better and having a good evening.

What my RO/nurse had me do:

What my RO/nurse had me do:

I did start right out with Miaderm.  It is expensive, though.

When I developed burns, this is what they had me do:

    1. Cover the areas that were oozy with silvadene -- might be what you are saying you have been using.  I used craft sticks to apply the cream.
    2. Cover it with some gauze so as not to get the stuff on your clothing.
    3. Leave in place for about 3-4 hours.
    4. Take off the gauze.  Dab area with very diluted hydrogen peroxide.  Dab dry with gauze.
    5. Do not cover area.  Let it air dry for about 4 hours or so.
    6. Do the water/peroxide routine again.
    7. Go back to Step 1.

I probably could have cleaned off the dead skin, but I tended to leave that for when I was due in at the RO's.  Initially, I was going daily because I was not quite done with rads.  So, when I went in, I did not have the silvadene on; I just had the area cleared and ready for rads.  The nurse would check things and see how I was healing.  I'd go for the rad.  Then I would come back to the nurse's office and she would get rid of the dead skin and then do the water/hydrogen peroxide thing again, and then apply the silvadene and gauze.

I think that I had it worked out that overnight I had the silvadene and gauze.  At that point, I was back to sleeping in my recliner, and so I had a great way to raise my arm (where the problems were) up, away from my body.

I healed quickly and I healed well.

Hope you can figure out an affordable option for you.  I know others have other creams they use, but I forget what ones I have heard of.

    Just thinking
let the nurse you are on limited funds, some will slip samples. I have been given the tibe and a spray saline by my breast surgeon to clean out a egg sized hole in my back from some kind of cyst. I was out of money and told him I could't buy it for 4 days when my disability check came in. He left the room and came back with a bag with wih everything I needed and afriendncame and cleaned it. Saved gas, 25 miles round trip every day, supplies, co-pays. Healed great!
My rads were to hips, pelvic, and tailbone, and cracked and bled. It was miserable. I sure feel for you and hope it heals fast!
Hope it all works out for you.
