I am so sorry it has been way to long since I have been here to update, I apologize to all of you. Dawne continues to hang in there and fight. She has had a rough couple of weeks but I am praying things are settling down for her and she will feel better soon. She is staying strong and being her wonderful self! She has a strong support system and her 7 yr old granddaughter loves to be her nurse and take care of her! I know you all are but keep Dawne and her family in your prayers. She appreciates it so very much. We have plans to meet up next Monday evening. I hope she is up to it.

I am not sure how many of you have heard about the explosion in West TX. It has been on CNN. West is a small town about 1 1/2 hrs south of the Dallas Ft Worth area. There was an explosion at a fertilizer plant last night. It leveled a 5-6 block area, dstroyed the Middle School and very heavy damage to an apt. complex and nursing home. My niece is in law enforcement in a nearby town and has been called in as have many, as well as fire fighters and EMT's and ambulances. It is devestating for a town of about 3000. It is a tight knit community. Please be praying for them as they are only begining a long journey. It has been a rough week for our nation. God Bless you all

no need to apologize, but, if you see from the last post you made here, we've all been praying and sending good thoughts everyday to Dawne and to you.

I bet her 7 year old granddaughter is the best medicine she could get!  Those little ones have a way to always make us feel good and smile.  Just sorry to know that she is still having a rough time.

Please give her my love and have fun when you meet up with her next week.

I did see on tv about the explosion and I am sending prayers!

Thanks Janice for the update and how are you doing?

Hugs, Angie

Yes, I saw the news about West, TX.  You are right, it has been a tough week for our nation.

Dear Janice,

I am sorry for the town that has had such a devastating lost.  It's been a rough week for our nation and I knew so many people who were in Boston for the marathon but all of them were out of the blast area when it hit.

Glad Dawne's hanging in there.  We all wish her well.

Thanks Janice!  They showed again the explosion and it was horrendous!  They still don't know for sure how many are dead from what they said.  My prayers are with West, Tx.

When you see Dawne, give her a gentle hug and tell her how much we love her and miss her.

Praying for Dawne that she starts feeling better soon and will be able to meet you. She's been in all of our thoughts.Like you mentioned she is a fighter and  she is going to kick this beast.

I read alot today about the blast in TX. Very sad. We're  not over the Boston Marathon and now a explosion with many dead and many without homes. This left  law enforcement missing and dead. The company had been penalized for safety problems last year. Why risk so many lives? I don't understand???

Thank you all for the kind words for Dawne and West. West is only 45 minutes or so from me so it hit close to home. My daughter and SIL know one of the VFD members who is missing. He was at the plant when the explosion happened. For a small town (3000) everyone knows everyone. It is a small czech community focused on family, and known for their kolaches. It is coming out that there were saefty issues with the plant. It has been there since 1962 and the town sorta grew out to it. It is a tragic event. This has indeed been a sad week for America, my heart is heavy for all involved with Boston too. I am hearing on the news this morning that one suspect is dead and another on the run or maybe caught by now. I have not heard in the last little bit.

I will pass along to Dawne all the kind words. Dawne and I met on this board and then realized how close we lived to each other. As it is with pink sisters we formed a quick bond. She is one of my dearest friends. She is an inspiration to all fighting this battle!

Thank you for asking about me, I am still dealing with some knee issues. I had a cortisone injection but it did not really help. I see a Dr on Monday about a different type of injection to see if it might be a better choice. I go for my routine mammo the same day. Prayers appreciated :o)

Thank you again for all you kind words and prayers. Dawne thinks of you all often and is very thankful for each one of you. God Bless

Thanks for reposting how you are doing Janice.  Those cortisone injections hurt, don't they?  Sorry it was of no help to you.  Hoping the new injection will do the trick for you.

Good luck and thinking positive for your mammo on Monday!

Hugs, Angie

Praying for Dawne, the people in Texas and for you Janice.  I hope your knee gets better and that you have NED with your mammogram.  If you can, post the date you go, so the pink bus can carry us to support you.

It's starting to sound like there was a lot of wrong doing at the ferilizer plant in West, Texas.  I hope they find out what happened and hold them accountable.

Did you get to see Dawne today?

Sue :)

Such a tragedy, and, our country did not need another one.  From what I saw too, it does look like they slipped through the cracks with inspections etc.

My prayers for all of the families that lost someone,

Rose

Thanks Janice for updating us as I hope you know that Dawne is always on our minds and in our hearts.  She certainly deserves a break.  She's been fighting so hard for so long.  I am so happy that you live close to her and can visit with her.  Give her a really big hug from me and you take good care of yourself.

Last week was just awful for everyone.  My prayers for everyone.

Thanks, Janice. I keep Dawne close in hopeful thoughts; and, each time I log on here... search for an update.

Yes, the disaster in Texas was horrific. An awful week (or so) for our nation. Prayers for all those affected.

Kind regards, Susan
