Everything went off without a hitch this morning. A big shout out to Irene who, like an angel, described the procedure in detail and put my mind to rest.  The interventional radiologist took 3 separate biopsy specimens, but it didn't hurt at all!  That versed and fentanyl--enough said.  I went in at 6:30 and arrived home about 12:30.  Not sure why they kept me so long, but it was ok.  I am just grateful to be home.

Thanks to all of you!  I felt your presence and it really helped.  Now the waiting game.  My onc said I should hear in 2-3 weeks...sigh.  But I know you will be waiting with me.  Big hugs to all!

    And to make you all

And to make you all laugh...remember my mortification about the facebook collection for a juicer (when I already own a juicer that has cobwebs on it)? My nephew and relatives were so earnest and sweet that I have just tried to graciously accept their somewhat unwanted gift.  I really do get that they love me.

Well now it is getting better. I have a friend coming tomorrow to show me how to use a juicer and he wants me to take one of his.  He is bringing all of his magic ingredients too.

In the meantime, I have an amazon credit for another juicer. And my ex-boss called me yesterday evening to tell me that she and her husband want to buy me a juicer.  I told her, "NO."  Arggh!

But, then again, maybe I should take them all and I can start my own smoothie business--Jamba Juice and Smoothie King watch out!!!  Laughing

    Hi

So glad your liver biopsy is over and that it did not hurt. I wish you didn't have to wait so long for the results, but luckily you will have time to gather even more juicers.  What's up with the juicers!!!  Should I get one, or two?  Did I miss the news that juicing cures cancer.  Oh if it only could!  But seriously, I think it is awesome that you have so many people who obviously love and care for you.  And I hope with all my heart that you get good results.

Hugs and prayers coming your way,

    Ginny

The new photo was taken over

The new photo was taken over Christmas at City Park in New Orleans.  I am looking up lovingly at my new soon-to-be granddaughter on Danny's shoulder.  Aaron fiance is off to the left.  Katherine took the photo.

Bella is my new love.  She called me on my birthday to say, "Happy Birthday" and babbled on and on and on about her birthday cake and how it had a tree and Phineas and Ferb.  I only understood 1/3 of what she said.  Then she asked me about my birthday cake and she is really, really upset that I didn't have one.  She is coming to see me on Tuesday and I will have to get a cake! For me and her...lol.

Wow! 2-3 weeks is way too long to wait for results.

I'm glad the biopsy is over and it wasn't painful.  Hopefully you won't have to wait that long for results.  So now about those juicers that seem to be multiplying faster than rabbits.  When you get married, you get toasters and when you get cancer you get juicers???  When they start to take up too much space in your kitchen, maybe you can sell them on ebay unless of course each person that gave you one wants to see their particular model on your countertop when they visit.  That could get complicated because you will have to label each one so you remember who gave it to you.  Just remember, "it's the thought that counts".... or is it?  Happy juicing!

    HUGS!!!

    Ginny,
    No, juicing doesn't

    Ginny,

No, juicing doesn't cure cancer.  It may even make my already queasy stomach worse.

My family, in their well-meaning panic mode, feel the need to take over my medical care Wink.  My nephew started a facebook page entitled, "Help Aunt Eileen!!!"

I don't think I have ever been so embarrassed.  I have to keep telling myself to just play nice and be gracious because I get that they love me and want to help.  My nephew is one of the sweetest kids that you will ever meet.  I love him dearly!

BTW, I just am not a sweet loving person (unless it is chocolate).  I prefer soups to smoothies.  I will try and see if Danny can make some kale/flaxseed/protein/soursop, etc soups for me so I can keep them happy...sigh.  Looks like I am doomed to spend the rest of my life sipping a witch's brew.  Or until they move on to some other "cure."  Lol!

Oh Jamie, you crack me up.  I absolutely love that.  When you get married you get toasters and when you get cancer you get juicers.  That is a hoot!  Tee hee hee.

Hope Waiting Time Will Be Less...

I am glad your ordeal is over and the worst one is this "the waiting".  I hope it doesn't take 2-3 weeks, did he tell you why?

I waited about 13 days, would have been sooner but he had an emergency surgery that Friday and his staff wasn't allowed to give the results.

I understood why they might not want a hysterical woman on their hands and they didn't know me.   I  was going out of state for the weekend.   It wasn't done at my usual hosptial so I didn't go to medical records on this one.  However, before I went back on a Tuesday, I went to their Medical Records at this hospital and they gave me his surgical notes, pre and post, his appointment notes and the pathology report.  I went in to see him and knew what I had.  He was relieved not to have to explain it all to me.   I only saw him 3 times, nice surgeon and kind.

Hope your results will be in quicker than estimation time.

    Best,

    Doris

What is it with All The Juicers?

    Hi,

Can't believe everyone thinks you need a juicer.   This is a really funny post, I've enjoyed it.  Smile

I may get some results back

I may get some results back sooner but he ordered next generation genetic sequencing too and that takes longer. I am more worried about insurance approval for the afinitor right now. Say a little prayer and I will keep you posted.

    Progress

Good to hear the biopsy went without a hitch and you're doing well juicing away (or not).  Saying a prayer for good pathology results and for insurance approval.   It's just not right that you have to worry about insurance companies when your health is in jeopardy!

    Your Liver Biopsy

I am glad that I was able to allay some of  your fears before the liver biopsy. You are correct that the fear of the unknown can be the worst part of a procedure. Didn't I tell you it would be a breeze? For once, I feel like a veteran in comparison to you. Hopefully your pathology report doesn't indicate something too unpleasant and your insurance company approves the Afinitor. You are a tremendous inspiration to me as a long-term breast cancer survivor and I wish only the very best for you.

So glad this biopsy is behind you now

and it went very well with no pain, Eileen.  The waiting does suck, but try to behave like I do when I'm waiting for results.  I behave "as if."  By that I mean, I pretend and truly try to believe "as if I'll will get the best news possible."  Doesn't always happen, but at least the waiting period is easier to deal with.

Take very good care and keep positive.

    :-)

A painless biopsy is the best kind, you know you are always in my thoughts and my prayers!  Juicing is one thing I have yet to get into, tell me how this new venture progresses.

    flaxseed

Hi, prayers for a good outcome from your liver biopsy. Just wanted to say I just discovered that flaxseed has phytoestrogen properties just like soy.  As my tumor was estrogen +, I steer clear of both of these. "Use in moderation" from the nutritionist at my Cancer Center, seems like bad advice to me. I feel the risk outweighs the benefits . Just fyi. Be well.  jojo2
