Finished up treatment #2 on Friday.  Nausea was mild this time since I started taking the meds right away instead of waiting for the nausea to set in.  I even went to work on Thursday with my chemo pack on.  Only side effect I've had this time was being tired.  Slept since Friday afternoon off and on until around noon today.  Just wanted to let everyone know I'm doing good so far.  Kiss

I finished Folfox 12/17/12. It sounds like your experience is the same as mine. 1st treatment was the worst, after that taking pre meds helped and my main symptom was just plain tired. I made it through all 12 without any bad neuropathy, until after it ended. Now my finger tips are numb and tingly and my feet are a little tingly. I'm hoping it goes away. Good luck with your treatment, you can do it.

So glad to hear from you.

I am also happy - although somewhat envious - that your side effects are so minimal.  I really hope it lasts your whole treatment.

In fact, I'm wondering if I'm not whimping out a bit, though the 105 WBC and subsiquent fatigue was not my fault.

I'm going to try to make myself a little more active this coming treatment and see if that helps.

You know we're not on the same schdule now I've had one treatment cancelled Undecided

What stage were you diganosed as? I can't rember.

Yeah, I saw where they had to cancel your treatment because of your counts.  So sorry but you need your strength before the next one.  I was diagnosed with 3B.  On the days I've been feeling good, I try to do the treadmill for at least 20 minutes just to keep my strength up.  Hope your treatments get better with each one, not worse.  Hugs....Cyn

Gald to hear the you are coming to grips with the treatment protocol.  I wore my pump to work with various levels of acceptance.  There is an igonorance within the workplace about cancer and caner treatment.  Sounds like your workplace may be a little more progressive than others.  Taking the meds as prescribed was, and is, important to me both then and now.  Post surgery and chemo that followed; I am working on six months since end of treatment.

Anyway, IMHO, the return to work was an improtant step for me.

((Hugs))

Art,

I've been gone for 6 weeks because of my surgery so they could have cared less what I looked like coming to work! haha  I work with all guys and pretty much act like the Queen there so they knew better than to give me **** about wearing my stylin fanny pack.  Everyone where I work has been so supportive which makes a huge difference.  Congrats to you for your six months!  I hope I'll be there someday soon.

ahhhhh Cyn Girl.....proud of you.....you see once you get on that old chemo merry-go-round....it just goes round......number 2 done.....and work too....good for you.  glad to hear you are walking the tread mill....if that gets too hard even a simple walk down the street is good.....I think a little walk helps with nausea. It's funny how quickly you adjust isn't it???? I mean at first chemo is like the worst the weirdest thing that could ever happen and then suddenly there you wearing your little baggie to work....

are you eating well Cyn???? and drinking lots of fluid??? said gramma mags.....have a hug.....mags

Glad you're taking the meds in a preventive way - that helped me a lot.  Exercise helps too as you've found out.  You're doing great!
