I don't waste my time sitting on the couch to stsre at 'professional' team 'sports'. Hubby doesn't either. To many healthier things to do. ??Too much corruption also to consider it really a sport in my opinion JMO
I grew up watching football with my dad. It was a real bonding experience for us. I've loved it ever since. Neither one of the teams playing is really "my team" but I'll be rooting for great plays and a tight, high-scoring game.
Making a bunch of Mexican food and my hubby and I are taking it all over to my son's, daughter-in-law's and grandson's. I'm making turkey chili, cheese enchiladas, guacamole/chips/salsa. We'll probably have a couple of ice cold Coronas as well.
Watching football with my hubby has always been so much fun! We make the day special and enjoy just being together! I've always got a good meal cooked and we sit or lay on the couch together and enjoy the game! I don't know what we'll do after the Super Bowl. :(
We've got several friends coming out for the day and night. Everyone will bring something, including ice cold Coronas, like Renee talked about. lol
I am making submarine sandwiches, have potato chips and onion dip, tortilla chips and a fantastic dip for them, pretzels and I am thinking of making those cute football cookies.
Looks to me like Nutz N Bolts, 2 different chips and cheese popcorn. Cut 'Lil Smokies" lined up on the 'field'. The yellow some sort of a mustard dip, green - avacado/guacamole dip and red - salsa. The cross stripes maybe sour cream. Uprights are some sort of a sausage.
We're having chili here for a few friends. My hubby is making the chili, so, YEH for that. LOL I will make a cheese tray also and have lots of different crackers and summer sausage and fresh fruit.
Our friends are bringing snacks and whatever else they want.
And we won some money! I would have been frightened if I'd been there when half of the lights went out. I wonder what really happened. I did NOT like Beyonce!
I have lived just south of San Francisco for the last 30 years so, of course, I am rooting for the 49ers. The Bay Area is just going nuts over this game. There is even a shortage of chicken wings in the grocery stores if you can believe it. Kickoff time is 3:30 p.m. here so we usually serve dinner during half time. Everyone who comes over contributes something but I think the main course this year will be tamales.
Renee and Angie, your parties sound great and the food..YUM! Susan, thanks for helping me to figure out the food in the pic. I doubt I will make it, but, it seems pretty easy to make. Irene, a shortage of chicken wings? I actually can believe it as that is a must for the Super Bowl! lol Enjoy your party!
I wish we could come to New Orleans! I bet your town is crazy Cynthia! We're getting all excited about the big game and hope it is a good one. The playoffs were really good, as usual!
We're going to some friends for the super bowl party and I am taking deviled eggs, a meat and cheese tray and lots of money! You know you have to gamble a little! lol
We actually looked into some packages and the cheapest was $5,000 each! Go Ravens!
I am trying to figure out how to post a picture of me and our rookie kicker, Justin Tucker on this post. May just have to post it on my expressions page.
All of the pictures of food look delicious! We were going to host the party here, but, my girlfriend insisted on having at her house, so, we are going there. Really looking forward to a fun filled day.
I am taking a big shrimp tray with sauce and a tray of hoagies. YUM! I will probably pick up more snacks and food to take as the day approaches.
Go Ravens and 49's!
Have you seen some of the commercials yet? They showed one for VW today and it was kind of funny.
I won't be watching the game but my husband is. Don't know what team he wants to win because we never talk about the game.I do remember a couple weeks ago he mentioned the game but nothing mentioned since. He also has to work Sunday.Would you believe 45 years of working 7 days a week.We have no life with his demanding schedule.
Super Bowl party .. My hubby, Pete is sick this week -- makes planning, and preparing a little difficult! We are up to 17 people --
It is wonderful to escape the craziness of our world for a few hours... Nice to have this opportunity to spend with friends, family and loved ones. 2 Brothers (Harbaugh) -- coaching opposite teams... should make for an interesting game.
I like both teams .. however, I am from California, so it is only fitting to root for the 49ers! Looking forward to seeing the Saints -- kick some assssss next Season!
Everyone coming wanted me to make my famous spaghetti and meatballs, so, that is what I am fixing. I have to admit..it is the best ever! My husband is always so good to help me, so, it won't be all that hard to do. I just have to make a bunch of it. LOL
Others are bringing the garlic bread, fresh garden salad, wine and beer and dessert.
I've stocked up on snacks, though I doubt anyone will want any of them after our huge meal.
Love days like this, good friends, good food and ( crossing fingers ) a good football game!
Fun Fun Fun! Although, I am a a little hungover today. LOL We had such a great time and enjoyed spending it with our friends. It was a good game, but, I only liked that one Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale.
It sounds like everyone is going to have a really fun and exciting Super Bowl day! Thanks for sharing your day with us and eat, drink and be merry and enjoy the game!

We want the Ravens to win! We've liked them all year!
We're just having one couple come over before the game for pizza, breadsticks and beer! My favorite! LOL
