Has anyone ever used just carboplatnum for chemo?

No, not me

I'm a stage 2b and I had six sessions of both carboplatin and paclitaxel (known as taxol), every three weeks between December 2010 and March 2011.

I just finished 6 doses of carbo as a single agent for a first recurrance.

Before surgery

I had Carbo but with Taxol.  I tolerated it quite well.  Post surgery Cisplatin is the one that got to me.

I am doing Carboplatin and Taxol. This is my first Chemo.

My first line....

My first line of chemo was 4 doses of chemo and then surgery and then 18 weeks of carbo and taxol combo and 6 doses of plain carbo for first recurrance. Carbo works really well for me. I am allergic to it now so I get it in the hospital over 20 hours with steroids and such. I am also BRCA 2 positive which makes it harder for the cancer to become resistant to chemo.
