I just had my tenth radiation treatment and it's painful every time I swallow. Any home-remedy or over the counter meds I can use to ease the discomfort?
Hi, I had the same thing and was given liquid paracetamol (or panadol) which I found really good. Orange flavoured...not so good! But it did ease the discomfort and you can buy it over the counter or get the pharmacist to mix it up.
MD Anderson pharmacy made up a cocktail of Milk of Magnesium, Lydocane, and maybe a couple of other ingredients that I can't recall. You swished it around in your mouth and then swallowed it and after a minute it would numb your throat that made it much easier for me to swallow.
