♥ What Makes You Smile Or Makes You Happy? ♥

There are so many things that I know make all of you smile, a baby's laughter, your grandchildren, your husband, a vacation, a promotion, the trees turning beautiful colors in the Fall, a plate full of french fries, a good bottle of wine, the first blue birds arriving in the Spring, NED, your 1st flowers blooming in your garden, talking for hours with your bff, opening Christmas presents, a funny movie...

So, what makes you smile?

There is nothing that can make me smile more than my hubby!  I love him so much and he is so good to me!

My family and friends run a close second!

Just to wake up every day after surviving bc has to put a smile on any of our faces after the valiant fight we've all been thru.

Hugs, Lex

Lots of things make me smile/happy:

  • my husband
  • my grandkids (they were here for about seven hours today) -- so full of life
  • my friends
  • my faith
  • my home
  • a good day, whether at work or at home
  • having a sense of humor -- sometimes I don't even say what is running through my mind, as I am thinking that that particular thought is funny only to me; I like a good joke.

I could go on.

My cat, spending time with my friends, a beautiful sunny day, a good joke, also some shows on tv like impractical jokers. Seeing children do the first thing like walking or trying to. These are just a few of the things that make me smile

My first great grandson who is almost 2 months. He is so cute. His mom and grandma have changed so much since he was born which makes me happy.Immature before and now much more grown up.And my son is a doting grandpa.

My pets.I love animals with all my heart. When I hear of animal abuse it brings tears to my eyes. All my facebook friends love animals and we do nothing but work and help them get homes, get fixed at a low cost, and donate to some good cause for a animal to be treated for illness or for abuse.

Love the sunshine days.Like going on rides in the country on those days.My mom used to take me for rides when I was younger. She liked to ride too and see the  scenery. We used to stop at a house with a pond(many ducks) We fed them and the owner alwasy came out to talk to us. Also we would stop at creeks and wade in the water.Alot cleaner then.My sisters stayed home. They were homebodies unlike me and mom. Those were the days but now my husband and I take rides in the country. We live out but not as far out as I would like. But he enjoys the rides too.

I was actually surprised to see some of my flowers already popping up.  I am afraid they will get killed off as we have snow and colder weather coming in this week.  One day it is in the 60's and the next it is below freezing.  It will make me sad if my Easter lily's get killed.  I always love to see them blooming on Easter Sunday.

Our cat can really make me smile when he does the crazy things he does around the house sometimes.

A beautiful sunny, warm day when you can sit outside and soak up that wonderful sun!  That makes me smile.

And, a good glass of wine!  Yes that does it too! lol

I just had a really nice visit with a friend from high school this week and it was so much fun.  It was like we were just young teenagers again, laughing, talking and driving our husband's nuts.  LOL

I smiled a LOT!

Ofcourse my husband and family are number one!  I am just so happy to have survived bc and to still be NED that it makes me smile and happy every day of my life!  Unless you've walked in our shoes, you cannot realize how precious every day, every moment is to be free of cancer.

Love reading everyone's comments and thanks Susie for another great post!

Cinnamon, my 8 year old cocker spaniel just amazes me

snuggles with brian

the flock of turkeys that come to visit our yard

the variety of birds that come to the bird feeder ....their colors, mystery, and sounds

boating and fishing...including ice fishing

gardening...vege garden and flowers

snowflakes falling from the sky

the feel of my arms floating in a lake

It was/is nice to read what makes others smile

taking pictures..my laptop is loaded with them

seeing my neighbors, fred and barb, mostly in the summer...

screaming in fear of silly things in the garden...like when the toad jumped out and i jumped, screamed and laughed....laughing when i am adjusting the lawn sprinkler in the garden and i get soaked

having a big old draty house with lots of history instead of the second floor two bedroom apartment i lived in for 16  years

searching my family tree

I am truly obsessed with my hubby!  lol  I love that man soooooooooooooooo much!  He is the most wonderful man in the world and treats me like I am a queen or something.  No words could ever truly express the bond between us.  I know how lucky I am and I am honored to be his wife!

For those of you that remember the "lightening bug ring" story I wrote about..that is how he is..sweet, amazing, very romantic and surprises me all of the time.

You are very welcome.

Yep, I am still making hats. Just finished number 22, of those that I plan to give away in March. I hope to have at least 50 done by then.

You are one remarkable sister Donna for making your hats.  I want you to know that I've seen several remarks on here of sisters that have received them and love them.

You crochet them, right?  Does it take long to make them?

Thanks Kristin,

Each hat takes about 45 minutes to make and yes they are hand crocheted. I have 64 done right now and I will make 6 more before next week so that I will have 70. I see my onc on the 7th of March at the University of Miami, Sylvester Cancer Treatment Center in downtown Miami. There is a rather large CTU there and I will begin giving my hats away there. Next will be the UM CTU where I took my treatments in Kendall. Lastley I donate to La Liga which is a CTU for people who don't have insurance or the money to pay for their treatments. They are so appreciative there. They all want to touch me or hold my hand to say thank you.

I just love doing this.

I have donated hats twice to Miami Childeren's Hospital CTU. I don't get to see the kids there because they are all immune compromised and I would need their parents permission but the hats I make to go there are all special. I put little lady bugs or frogs or butterflies on them. Or I make the whole hat in fun fur. I also add little buttons with inspirational sayings like "Hope" and such.

Did I mention that I love doing this.

Hugs

Donna

Hi Donna,

In 2011, I wanted a 2nd opinion on my rotator cuff (full thickness tear of the supraspinatus tendon) and MRI showed a mass near by.  I made an appointment with this orthopedic doctor in the area my parents lived in Florida.  I was visiting them during my vacation.  Upon seeing my MRI, he sent me immediately to the  University of Miami, Sylvester Cancer Treatment Center at Deerfield Beach.  A few hours later, there I was in an unknown facility but meeting an extremely nice orthopedic oncologist.  He looked at my MRI and wanted a CT scan.  One was arranged and two days later I met with him again.  As we looked at my ct scan together, he looked at me and said, "thought you told me your cancer was stable".  I said, "it was".  "Well, it's not any more" as we looked at the ct scan together.  He forwarded the information to my doctors who gave me a copy of his report and the CT scan.  I really like the Cancer Center and the oncologist I met.  It was an extremely nice place.  I felt very comfortable and well cared, even though I really was just a transient.

It was the start of the saga I am on now.  I am certain that they are very grateful for your hats.  I noticed a flyer at the small oncology center I normally use in my home town about knitters.  I was just beginning to read it when they called me for my Faslodex shots.  As of next week, I will hopefully have my chemotherapy at that place.  Today, my first one I go to the large Cancer Center to see how I will doing with it.  I imagine that I will have time next week to read the flyer.

May your appointment on March 7th find everything to be in the normal range.

My hubby took me out today to look at new vehicles.  He wants to buy me a new one.  We went out for a late lunch to discuss it and had a really wonderful time.

It was really nice here, weather wise, so, we even went for a walk, holding hands, and, just saying how lucky we were to have each other.  I don't know what I would do without him.   He makes my world rock!

Still not sure about the new SUV, but, I think it is a go.  I just hate to give up the one I have now. But, I think we will do the trade.

Needless to say, I am smiling and hope all of you are too!

A new baby is always a reason to smile and since it is your new grandson a reason to be immensely happy.

He is the same size as my youngest son was at birth.  That is a good size who will be able to sleep through the night very soon.

Mine had lots of hair too.

Enjoy, enjoy and enjoy this new blessing!

What makes me happy:

my 3 guinea pigs. My cat. Writing. Listening to meaningful songs. Napping. Eating soups. Eating fruits. Climbing trees. Green trees. Nature. Animals. OMG, so many things! Life can be wonderful if we remember what we have. I sometimes forget it.
