Sorry about what appears to be going on with you. I have just posted about a similar problem. Having bone scan Monday have a sore area under one side even though had bilateral. Feels on the rib. Others should be able to chat to you, there are ladies dealing with the same as you and will have lots of info. Good luck with MRI, I too looking up bone mets on line which can be scary. One step at a time.

I am very sorry. Your doctor probably will suggest biopcy, it is not pleasant, however you have to do it. If you follow my story I was diagnosed with progression 6 months ago after 4 years with NED. I have 10 tumors in different bones, ribs, pelvic & other places. There are many treatment options, please believe that you will be alright. We will help you and support you. Please keep us posted about treatment plan. Recent studies have shown that you need to start treatment within 3 weeks after biopcy confirming cancer.

Marianne,

My mets are in lymph nodes rather than bones. I just want you to know that like your original dx and treatment, take this one day at a time. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. As New Flower said, we will be here to help you...come and vent, ask your questions, share your worries and your joys.

Hugs,

Linda

I have been decorating for Christmas all day. It has been helpful to keep my mind off the MRI! Thank you for thinking of me!! Marianne

I had pain in my back (T-12) early this year. Had a PET, CT, MRI and finally a bone biopsy. Tests showed bony metastasis mostly in T-12, but the MRI showed a few "lytic lesions thought to be metastasis" in pelvis and part of my spine. When I first received the news that I had been rediagnosed to Stage 4, I was terrified. That was back in January. Since then, I had 14 rads to T-12, and I have been on monthly Faslodex injections and Xgeva injection. My PET in June showed NO EVIDENCE of DISEASE and my PET scan a few weeks ago showed NO EVIDENCE of DISEASE in any organs or bony structures. One spot did light up in a lymph node under my arm in my affected side, but all concerned feel this is post-op from my mastectomy in August in which I had a recurrence in the breast that had the lumpectomy in Dec. '09. This will again be checked in six months.

Please know--if this is truly a bone met (and they most likely would do a bone biopsy to confirm), it can be very successfully treated. I will continue with my current treatment and monitoring indefinitely.

Praying for the best case scenario for you, but even if the worst happens--there are many, many treatment options.

Hugs, Renee
