Wow,i am very grateful and it is heartwarming to see so much support and understanding from yourself and everyone on this site,it really does help and doesnt make me feel so isolated.
I actually just returned from my local hospital in the last hour and im still trying to digest what the doctor has told me.I asked him to be straight to the point as im always a realist in every aspect of my life.I have aggressive reccurence in my upper part of my oesophagous and also in my small bowel. He said my only option is chemotherapy on 3 week cycles with 1 week on 2 weeks off kind of thing. He rates my chances of success at between 25-50% of having a positive result and maybe shrinking the main tuomur and halting the cancer in my bowel somewhat. They are pretty good odds right?better then 0% is the way im looking at it :)..At least now i know what im up against.

My wound from my surgery is looking great and i am able to go swimming and surfing again so i plan on spending my weekend doing excactly that before next week when i will have a portacath put back in and start the chemo.Everyday counts i think.Having cancer and being told 2 years ago that it was incurable and in light of recent events has certainly put a lot of things into perspective.I have my down times with pain and confusion but i always know i will find a way to overcome this and come throught the other side a better, stronger person..:)seize the day! is the famous phrase and its excactly what i intend to do..

I most certainly am on facebook,my id is danspurge@hotmail.com .i have joined the ECAA's facebook page but have not really posted much on it.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to you too sandra

Them odds seem pretty good to me. I was given a lower rate when I was diagnosed. One thing we all have learned is not to pay attention to stats. It is really the individual person that determines the outcome.

Good to hear from you. If you have time, check in more often. Your spirits sound a lot better.Have fun surfing before treatment starts. I'll look for you on FB.
