I had to type this on my phone so it could have been better said & more complete, but I just couldn't sit back & remain quiet! We all are in danger of being "banned" & not being able to share helpful information on this site. Very sad and unfortunate. We can stand up and take a stance. We may have to move to the facebook page. Here was my email. Share your own thoughts, even if you disagree.

to: Greta.Greer@cancer.org

Greta,
I am shocked.
I am saddened.
I am disappointed.

We all should be. In this great country we live in, there is freedom of speech. I am aware that csn frowns on religious posts. But banning folks from your site because you do not agree is spiteful & petty as well as irresponsible. As with other posts, one does not need to agree with it's content. We all are adults & filter through information from various sources, choosing what is beneficial to our own situation. If I don't agree with a post, I disregard it. I don't ask you to ban the poster!

By banning the Marshalls, you simply limit the information shared with people who need it most. You are not simply protecting someone getting offended from religious speech, but limiting important info getting to the folks you claim to be helping- cancer patients & their families!

My mom & I personally benefited tremendously from many of Bill & Lorettas posts when my dad was battling esophageal cancer. To actually hear from a survivor was priceless! It gave us hope. My dad lived 2& 1/2 years after his diagnosis. He, sadly, passed away last Nov 8.

If you Greta, on behalf if CSN, are charged with the care & concern for cancer patients & their families... Then I formally request you reconsider banning the Marshalls from the CSN esophageal cancer discussion board.

Respectfully,
Kim Heburn Priest

Sherri--when I get a chance--I want to look at the mission statement of the American Cancer Society & see if it meshes with the one at CSN. I believe as you, that they do not realize the implications that their actions will have on those that need this information most.

For all that donate to the American Cancer SOciety, what do they think about the fact that you can not have a personal reference to your religion or to God in your posts?

sorry so short---have a million things I need to do & running out the door again. Maybe we can make a difference?

I can't beleive they are "gone". There have been a multitude os folks that have benefited from their research. I so wish I had found this site before I started treatment. I waded through so much in blindness. My outcome was good, but I could have benefited from their wisdom. I shared their veiws, but if I disagree with someone I am adult enough to click them off. If my faith is my life force and it was the power to help me through, I should have the right to say so--There is no force to make others see my point of veiw.

I'm not saying there name-I don't have to, We all know who they are and what great mentors they are.

I pray CSN realize there mistake. I'm Wondering if any of the one's censoring have been through what we have and need the help that we have all gleened from our older survivors-There are only a hand full.

You are so right Sandy. I wonder the same thing. Clearly those censoring do not have a clue.

For those who care --- I am trying to get a website - blog set up. I am going to personally pay for the cost of the site and will ask for assistance from all here and elsewhere to provide information for patients who have or have had Esophageal Cancer. It may take me a few days (or a wekk) to figure out how to do this but I have already secured a domain name and paid for a year of service. Yes I am committed to making sure that this information stays available for those who need it.

The new site is Esophagealcancerfighters.com and the email is ECFIGHTERS@gmail.com. I hope to be able to upload a significant amount of the information that has been deleted from this site and am trying to figure out the ability to have people comment. The format may be somewhat different but there will not be sensorship.

I hope that once this is up and running it can be a valuable resource for those fighting this dreaded cancer and a community of people committed to making the lives of those we love better through education, love, support, joy and tears. This battle is so difficult and the last thing we need to do is battle with each other.

You can count on me to help with costs. This means a lot to me and our little EC community.
Thank you Cindy!

Please - let's rally and express our outrage and shock that two beautiful people have been removed for whatever silly reason. You can express your feelings by clicking on the very upper right Contact CSN.

To me this is the same and banning our forefathers for what they did to allow us to live in this 'freedom' of speech country. CSN has just made a dictorial decision - I wasn't allowed to vote or voice an opinion - was anyone on here - or did they just just click the box?

Outrageous and plain old dumb move CSN.

Sincerely,
Judy Reed

Judy,

I have written two separate emails requesting a response. I did not receive any direct response --- but they did delete emails from William in my personal inbox and also my censorship post so I guess that is their response. We don't care, we don't respect your private email space and I guess it is not permitted to question censorship because that post was removed.

Now to the really important stuff --- the stuff we are supposed to focus on here. Hope things are peaceful at home for Don. Loved the picture of Don with your daughter and his friend. Cherish and enjoy the moments, talk and hold his hand and anything else he wants to do. This part of the journey is difficult for us and them. I know my dad was so worried about my mom but we told him we would take care of her and be there for her. He was such a fighter, like your Don, we also gave him permission to let go and I can tell you that was the hardest thing I have ever done. And yes I told him we would see him again in heaven!

Love and prayers and hugs to you all. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.

Bless you,
Cindy

Anybody know why William was censored? Did the site moderators mention the subject of religion, or is that just speculation?

William shared with me and I am sure others as well an email he received from Greta Greer a CSN monitor. She had removed a post of his and explained that in
