Just resting on the beach I finished my two weeks of xeloda avastin and I feel a bit tired! What about you?
After a heII of a tough week with my Mother-in-Law passing away last Sunday, her wake Thursday and Funeral Friday (and my 5th very successful RFA Tuesday to mix things up), we are headed to Stony Brook University on Long Island NY as Dylan starts his college years.
I mean, how much traffic can there be headed to Long Island on a Saturday in the summer when it's gorgeous out?
Easily the 2 hour ride each way will be 5+
Tomorrow I do nothing but swim!
Just got back from Houston (MDA) and they have me scheduled for final lung surgery (nodules out) sept 12th.
Gonna fish like crazy b4 then cuz after that I'll done fishing the rest of the year.
Cleaning reels, new line today.
Enjoy the rest of summer!
Hope to see you before the end of summer man!.
Have very good luck on your second surgery mate , will be praying for you.
Sending good vibes from the other side of the pond ,have a big hug!
I see it's been stressing including the trip to Long island !
So you have a well deserved Sunday to do nothing , enjoy the pool my friend!
Just saw my ophthalmologist -now I need cataract surgery. Isin't life a ball?
But it's just nothing , my moodier is been operated recently and it was easy so...enjoy the ball! LOL.
Big hug to you my friend.
I've been away the whole weekend, so I'm giving a report after the fact. I went with 14 youth from my church to a mission/retreat weekend. Bill and one of the fathers went along, too. The worship was so uplifting, and I did some good bonding with the youth. We also bonded over some of the dancing they did just for fun (love the wobble!).
Our service project was in a nursing home. We took pocket crosses to the residents and just spent time talking to them. There was one lovely couple that just brought us all to tears. The husband was taking care of his wife, who is 6 weeks out of a coma. The love he showed her, and his pride in every tiny bit of progress she is making were just beautiful. Everyone should be loved that way.
I'm sure u did an outstanding work with all those youth!
What a nice story about this couple. Will remember them in my prayers .
Well, I know it's not the weekend yet but I played soccer in my adult league last night. 2nd week after chemo and radiation but I had to give it a try. Felt like i was breathing fire after not doing anything while treatment was going on, but it was great to play a little. Trying to crame all I can in until suregery in a few weeks..
Barcelona! Good try WTS!
BtW you Won?
Nope, we lost 3-2. But i did have an assist on the 2nd goal! Not bad for an old guy.
Now if the Dr will ok me to race my Motocross bike before my surgery, I'll be happy!
Got 2 Husqvarnas! 610 and 450! But this is a different challenge for somebody on chemo my friend!.
Cool, XR400 (honda) for the trails here. (Plated & street legal) Which will be going on a couple rides this weekend. No camping this time, just ridin. Lil bbq later.
Have a safe labor day everyone.
If I get recovered ok after my October surgery and the following additional Chemo, I'm going to get a new KTM to replace my Honda CRF450 for my recovery present next year!
I will be actually going to the store with my family - which I have not done in 8 months to do food shopping. I am making big changes in my/our diet (plant based etc...). So we need to fill the fridge. We didn't eat "bad" before but now we will eat a whole lot better.
I am thriled to be done with the 12 chemo treatments. I have first set of scans on 9/18. Since I had clean scans when I started I feel ok about them again. The follow up colonoscopy is in Jan. I will always be "nervous" and aware that reoccurance is always there but I am trying not to allow it to take over my every thought. I discovered something over this last year - cancer really sucks!
My Wellness Program starts in Sept. 8 weeks of personalized exercise program and Yoga....Ahhh Yoga.
I told my Onc I will do everything in my power to make sure this does not come back. Diet, exercise, de-stress. This is my goal!
Everyone enjoy the weekend - even if you do not feel good, allow yourself time to do or think of something non-cancer related.
Congrats on finishing chemo! I just completed #4, haven't missed a dose yet. 8 more to go, you did it so I will do it! I am having a CT scan in September also. Good luck on NED, may you stay that way forever!
