Hello everyOne!

I know this is for women with cancer, but I am scared that there may be something more than the doctors are telling me.

These are my symptoms:

- 3periods a month (for 6 yrs now)
-large blood clots
- birth control makes me aggressive and bleed constantly
- groin and hip stabbing pain
-cyst on lymphnoid that comes and goes (on outside vigina)
- severe cramping
- weird headaches (recent- past month)
- severe
- hot flashes
- bloating
- unintentional weight gain. (been counting carbs and still gaining, after seeing a nutritionist for diet)
- sometimes feel a tearing ( like when your pregnant and your muscles are stretching)

These are the most recent and concerning that I can remember.

A little about me:

I started my period at 9, I was normal until 16, I tried birth control (none worked). I have had blood work, ultrasounds, colposcopy (in need of second, scheduled in a few months). I was told after my son was born 2-24-11 that I have hpv- the step right before cancer. I was not in a rush to get the check ups as my husband is military and my son and i were getting ready to join him. Its been over a year since my last colposcopy, because my doctor told me I had nothing to worry about and at my age it will go away. Now the past I would say four to five months things have spiraled, bleeding is worse, the cyst, the headaches, the severe mood swings, the hot flashes, the stabbing pains. And again all of my testing are comming back 100% perfect according to the doctors. They are military, so I know they make sure they have little work as possible. I am scared. I am only 22, is it possible they are missing something? I'm to the point where I want Everything out because I cannot handle the periods and mood swings. It has almost ruined my marriage, thankfully my husband has had enough time home to see how bad the bleeding is, and how my mood swings are. Does it sound like just dysfunctional uterine bleeding? Please any insight. Any tests, besides my colposcopy? Am I really just going to have to live with the bleeding?!?

If I was in your position, I would find a good naturopath. They do tests to identify imbalances in your body. This could be as simple as a hormonal imbalance. But the doctors' scans won't show that. If it is something more serious a naturopath can help you identify that too.

I have not seen a gyno yet.
I have not seen a gyno yet. We are stationed in Japan and on a small post. So resources are limited. I am suppose to get my colposcopy done ASAP but its months before there is an opening. I had a transvaginal ultrasound about two months ago maybe longer and all they told me is that I can still have kids, I was going to start my period in a few days ( I did two wks later). And that I had excessive scar tissue from my c-section with my son. I am trying to keep a level head. But I'm just so fed up with bleeding so much! It's to the point it's effecting my son, and I feel horrible. I'm always tired from bleeding so often and so heavy, yet I'm not anemic for them to believe me. I'm going thru a box and a half of super plus tampons a day! But drs say its ok bcuz my blood work is within range. I'm glad it sounds more like hormones.

Your symptoms sound like trouble to me. I started to bleed about one year before I was diagnosed. My blood work was good and I was not anemic. I got so fed up I told the doctor to do something that is when she did an ultrasound in the office and immediately she knew that I had cancer. This may not be the same for you. I Think you need immediate attention from Gyn. Immediate. Let your superiors know so they can give you the pertinent papers and orders. Immediately. Don't be foolish. get this done immediately. Please keep us informed.

It sounds to me like you
It sounds to me like you would be anemic by now.
I agree you need to talk to your husband's superiors, so maybe they can help you out to get adequate attention.

Can you fly back to the states to see a doctor?

Thank you everyone for the replies. We are currently stateside on leave. But unfortunately I am unable to see a dr unless it's an emergency. Our insurance won't cover it unless it is. And paying out of pocket isn't an option. They are telling us they will have an opening in September so I am crossing my fingers it all works out and I am able to get the apt. It's frustrating, because all of the ultrasounds, all of the blood work and they all show nothing. I am to the point where if nothing comes of this test then I am asking for a hysterectomy, or exploratory surgery or something, because this is not something any women should have to just live with. Having one period a month is bad enough, now at 22 I am having to deal with 3-4 heavy periods a month. I am crossing my fingers they will do something, find some clue. Thank you ladies for the responses! I greatly appreciate them! I will post back when I get my results!

    Ob/gyn emergency
Optimisticmomma, based on my own symptoms and their progression, I personally wouldn't wait. There are clinics that will see people with little or no money. A Planned Parenthood clinic helped me when I was in my early 20s and had no money.

    I agree with sunbright...get
I agree with sunbright...get yourself to a planed parenthood clinic and lie if you have to, but get in and don't leave until they can get you some help! You may be one of the "lucky" ones that actually have symphoms and they need to be addressed. I, like so many others here, had no symphoms at all and was just blessed to have a routine check-up that caught mine early. Don't let them tell you that you are too young...crazy stuff happens all the time! Learn to fight now and you won't be sorry later. Best to you, Debrajo

    Another symptom?
I had to go to the er on Monday, the 20th. I had an open sore. I thought maybe I cut myself shaving and it got infected. Three female PAs and none had a clue what it might be and did not want to diagnose me. Called for an OBGYN and he looked at for maybe 2whole seconds and told me that without a doubt he is 99.9percent it is herpes and nothing else. And said I contracted it a year ago when the doctor in Japan mistaked me for having a bartholin cyst. I am freaking out! I have been doing a lot of searching and I have no symptoms of herpes besides the sore, no fever, no flu like symtpoms, I've never had any scabs down there. What he explained to me that happens with herpes I have never had! And he made it seem as if my husband was unfaithful to me. It was as if he was calling me stupid for being with a military man. And making me feel as if I deserved this diagnosis. I understand that some doctors can look at things and know right away but to say its HSV without testing, and damn near accusing my husband of cheating. I am in such confusion... I am now having to go to the OBGYN (not him!!!) tomorrow for a re-check. I have read online that vulvar cancer is often symptomatic of sores like mine. But without a fever, or feeling ill I am so confused. I am praying that this is really not herpes. I know my husband has been faithful to me. When I was pregnant with my son I had to get an antibody test done and they tested me for herpes, and it was negative then. I know this doesn't have much to do with what's going on with my other issues, but who knows if it does! I will be talking to the dr about my other issues that have been going on as I was told that the diagnosis of abnormal uterine bleeding is just a generic diagnosis for drs that don't care. Her words not mine. Ugh!!! So much to deal with! Even thought I have no room to complain because I am not battling anything comparable to what you ladies do!

Well I went to the new dr
Well I went to the new dr today. Not herpes! Thank goodness. But the bummer is that they have no idea what it is. :-/ he did a pap test to see if any cells come back abnormal but my insurance wouldn't cover the colposcopy til I get back to Japan. At least I'll know if there are bad cells still. Find out in a couple weeks. Hoping a doctor will take me seriously one day. These pains are becoming unbearable .
