From the mouth of babes

Hi All

Still hanging in. Having lots of moments of okay and then tears.

I wanted to share something my youngest granddaughter, Fynn said to me last evening.

We were walking to my car to get some left over sparklers to light before I went back home, and out of the blue, she asks me if I am scared to have surgery. This is the first she has mentioned anything and she is only 8. So, stunned as I was, I said to her, "well maybe a little" I didn't want her to be frightened. She replied, "Nana, you like flowers don't you. So don't be scared we will bring lots of flowers and balloons to your hospital room. That will make you feel better and not be so scared."
I told yes, that would really help.

For me, this was a wow moment. The love and sweetness from a young child. And the wise maturity that I never expected, all at the same time.

It's amazing the strength I am finding, in the most unexpected places...

Just wanted to share that with you all. I hope everyone is having a great Monday and feeling as well as can be.

I am keeping you all close in my heart
Lisha

    Wonderful story :).

Thanks for sharing. Amazing how children can be little rays
of sunshine and truth (when they're being good ;)).

Hang in there and you have a great day too.

    Kids
I know what you mean about the things that come out of little kids mouths. I could go on all night about things my kids have said over the years. John

I can relate lisha, my 5 yr old daughter has said some profound and wonderful things sence we told her daddy has cancer. She along with my amazing wife are my greatest motivations to endure what must be endured. I wish you all the best with your surgery, keep your smart phone close so we can all send you some e-flowers in your room as well. Aaron

    God bless the children....
    Hi Lisha,
Kids are just the best. When Lizzy feels my port she automatically leans forward and gives it a kiss. She doesn't have a clue what it's for, but since I've always told her to be "gentle" when she touches it...she somehow knows it's something "special". She can bring me to tears everyday...tears of happiness! Love the picture of you and Fynn in your expression pictures...she's a cutie, thats forsure. Love you...Sue(FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    So Sweet
    Lisha,

I know what you mean. The youngest of children are so innocent of the world. Everything
they think and say, is from the heart.

Thank you for sharing your experience with your grand-daughter Flynn. What an unusual
    name. I love it.

    Love and hugs. Love Maggie
