My G tube came out this morning! Only took a second and did not even feel the doctor pull it out. One step closer to the new normal :-)

Thanks for sharing in my good news. My sister always says you are your own best advocate and it's "your body" so when my ONC said she wanted to leave it in until after my 1st scan (12 weeks) I was taken back. Did she know something I didn't? I had clear margins in my 19 hour surgery, 30 nodes removed 2 positive. Did the full boat rads/chemo. The G tube had been in nearly 5 mos. and I had not used it once in the last 4 weeks. I got an infection so ONC made me an appt. and put me on anti-biotics saying she preferred they keep it in if possible. When I got to hospital doctor was in total agreement with me to remove. He could not understand why ONC would leave in. I was comfortable when he said if I needed it in 12 weeks he could easily put one in with very minimal risk. It pays off to speak up for what your body is telling you! No more attachments...can swim in a matter of days :-) I hope the day comes soon for all of you to call Home Care to pick up their IV stand.

    YES!
Great to hear your news. Had trouble with my new belly-button sealing shut, and would get a little seapage after eating, so my Surgeon finally used the Skin Temp thing to gradually form a seal, and worked. New normal- NOW!
