My radiation got done on wed and it felt sooo good to ring the bell! I hit it so hard, they could even hear from front of the building :)

But things were not good since i came home, basically mucus, dry throat, coughing, nausea.

My tomgue is sore too. I had to go for hydration 3 times. My doc says this is normal stuff and overall i am doing good!

I will open up a new thread with my qiestions and also go thru other questons that can us my help.

Sam

    YES!!!
I knew you finished rads that day....and wondered why you hadn't posted anything (almost did it myself, but felt that would be overstepping)...

I'm sorry things have been so rough since you finished...but at least your Dr. sees this as normal stuff and that you're doing well.

You've been such a great to me on this bus trip...I missed hearing from you. Things will start turning around, it just takes some time to get thru the cooking stage...

    good news
    Hi Sam,

Good to hear you finished, to bad you have to cook for a few more weeks. I think this one tine where you want to be well done, so to speak. Sorry about the friends who hitched a ride home on the bus with you (mucus, dry throat, nausea and coughing) when you are thru with then, just kick them to the curb.

Rest up, drink plenty of water and start healing.

    Best,

    Matt

To late to ring my bell for you, I’ll do it in the morning.

    Good job Sam!
    As most people

    Good job Sam!

As most people say, things get worse for a week or two before they get better. Psychologically it's not easy: you're brain tells you that you're done and you're body tells you the opposite. I'm two and a half weeks out and right now the main source of pain is the soreness from playing in the park a couple of days ago.. ;)

    woohoo!
Congratulations on finishing radiation! My husband finished the day before you. He's feeling a tiny bit better but like you has the dry throat, coughing, and mucous. The mucous has improved slightly but he's got a long way to go.

I hope you recover quickly and can get on with your life!

Starting rads next week. A little scared
Congrats on finishing your rads. I have appointment for July 10, for tests and whatever else they have to do and I assume they will set up my appointments on that day. I had tonsil cancer and radical neck dissection, all in same surgery. They removed 17 lymph nodes and out of those there were 7 that were cancerous. I'm feeling better every day but now I have this ahead of me and from what I have read, it's not going to be an easy trip. I am, as you can see, new on here but I visit every single day. Any advice I can get from any of you would be greatly appreciated. I guess my username will be a little confusing, but I am female, 62 years of age and my name is actually Pam.

Every time we ring a Bell
an Angel gets her wings, oops thats a Wonderful Life, guess everytime a person finishes RADS and rings the bell an Angel gets to stop going to RADS every day. Congrats to you I have 5 down and 28 to go but I look at the bell hanging outside the Nurses office everyday looking forward to the day I can ring it. I pray your side effects will get better with time as we all want to get back to Normal even if it is the New Normal all the veterans of this lousy disease describe.

    The bell
What a wonderful bell to ring. Hang in there now and keep remembering that things get better week by week rather than day by day!
