Tingling sensations and leg weakness post treatment

G'day everyone. New here :)
My husband is at 8 weeks post radiation/chemo. Had surgery in Late Jan 2012 to remove one tonsil (tumor) sml margin of base tongue and part of wall at back of tonsil plus several lymph nodes in neck. Has a G peg feeding tube. Is trying to eat and can get soft meals down but still has no saliva or taste. He is dealing with that - BUT now has terrible tingling in his upper arms, shoulders, left butt cheek, weak muscles in his legs just in past few days. He did have Cisplatin chemo drug. 35 radiation treatments. ONC thinks it may be a chemical imbalance. Anyone else out there with similar side effects. He takes the high calorie nestle carnation drinks a few times a day in tube. I'm worried about new development.

    as you describe this
    it is most likely related to radiation, not chemotherapy. Or, as you say, this could be a completely new problem. You need referral to a neurologist to sort this out. The other doctors, while expert in their own fields, are not the ones who will diagnose this.

    As pat mentioned, it's always best to communicate changes such as this to your MD Team....

    There is a lady on here...ARNDOG, that her husband went through the mill with different effects both during and post Tx....

    Neuropathy?
    Cisplatin, and some of the other chemo drugs, can cause neuropathy in various locations. Ask your doctor about this one as well.

    not a doctor..
    and Pat and others knows more than I for sure on this. Always tell your docs and as Pat said, go outside your cancer docs if need be.

    When I touch my chin to my chest or turn my head quickly / sharply I get a tingling (electric type shock) down my back and back of my legs, buttocks. Not painful, kind of cool feeling.

    I have read and was told this is from radiation and most times your brain will "block out the signal" over time. My tingling did not appear rigt away but rather 2 months after my last radiation...and is still with me as of today ...but it does seem "lesser" lately.

    Check Electrolytes?
    Your oncologist is probably already checking electrolytes. My calcium levels were way off because of damage to my parathyroid glands during neck surgery. Your standard blood test checks electrolytes. Since electrolytes control all nerve and muscle functions, any imbalance should be treated by the medical team. I'm sure it will be. Rick.

    Apparently Taxotere can cause neuropathy. Buzz has numbness/tingling in his hands/feet/left thigh which the oncologist thinks is due to the Taxotere. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a cure for this problem. Karen
