amifostine and rad treatments left to do!! :) I am excited that the last week is finally here, and that by next week at this time, I'll never have to have either again. I got thru this relatively unscathed, too...I weighed 89 1/2 today at rads, which is only a 3 1/2 lb weight loss from the git go. Thanks to the diligence of my two sisters cooking, using their imaginations to think like a person with no spit and not taste buds...a hubby who picked up and did all the farm chores on his own...and loving friends who come by to keep me laughing (many times laughing at myself, so I quit taking me and my troubles so seriously).

But the big deal is...I did make it, just like everyone here said I would.

I still have 3 more chemo's do do, but not having to get up and go to rads after those will be a big burden off my shoulders.

I am SMILING BIG tonight.

    Hi phrannie,

I am so happy for you; I want some water from your house. It is nice that you were treated right throughout this adventure. How’s the neck feeling, much burn? It is amazing how much you can take and get up and do it all over again tomorrow. Enough of that for you, may your final treatments be a cake walk.

    Enjoy every day,

    Matt

    Yeah Mrs. Sarge!!
Next week at this time, it'll be you and me.......and it seems someone else...Dre?, who will be coming to our bus stop (tho I think I'll keep Ditto's seat warm, since he is so close with us on this journey).

Matt, this last week they were doing a boost in the rads which took my neck out of range, so my crusty, ravaged neck has had a chance to heal some. It's still scaley and itchy, but looks 50 times better. I've been slathering it with Aloe only, now. My soft palate must have gone out of range too, so have been back to drinking all my meals instead of tubing any...

I'm going to be like a little kid waiting for Santa at Christmas this coming week. :)

    Home Stretch, I Reckon
    Exciting, isn't it?

Happy for you - I remember how I counted down, and how I looked forward to the "last rad day". Keep up the good work. I know you know that you won't see huge improvements in the way you feel next weekend, but it's good to know you're not cooking yourself anymore.

    Nearly There Phrannie
As expected phrannie the cancer has come off worst (and the rad machine even) and you are still standing strong with just a few more steps to take...

Never doubted for a minute you would get through it, but its so lovely to hear you are nearing the end of what must have been a tough road.

Finish up, recovery then roll on that NED scan! Thinking of you as you just edge your way over that finish line, so happy for you phrannie x

You have been an Inspiration to me!
A little song for you (to the tune of Subway $5 foot long sandwiches)

Five! Five! Five more days of rads!
    Thanks! Thanks! Blessings for you!!

    Hugs to you...
You have been a source of inspiration and support.

    I'll be done on Monday
I'll be done on Monday Phrannie! I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do with myself after Rads. This has been such. Huge part of life for 6 weeks now. ;) anyways, I'll be getting off "the bus" a little sooner but I promise I'll still be cheering everyone else on!!!

    just in case......
Meagan, you bring up an interesting point. When my "day after last day of rads" finally came, I was a little disoriented. No place I had to be, nothing to do really, even though I felt like crap. I felt that when I was going to hosp every day, I was at least doing something to get rid of the cancer. That let down feeling lasted about 3 days for me, then I started concentrating on getting stronger. (Just telling you this in case it happens to you --wishing that it doesn't)

So you only have ONE MORE DAY -- WOW.

The best part of getting off the bus will definitely be the cheerleading part.

    That's right Meagan......
You and I were finishing together, except my rad machine broke down...All of us finishing in the same week is still pretty much the same thing...we'll still have to party on Friday....WoooP!
