in Head and Neck Cancer #1
my last couple weeks of rad n chemo treatments were the hardest time. saliva becoming thickenning that make you gag. even going to my rad treatment becoming hassle feeling am gonna choke on my own thick saliva. I ask my oncology to cut out the mouth part of my mask and suction all the gunk out prior treatment, and numb my throat before going to the machine. It works and am all done!! Still having hardtime sleeping at night. I use lots of salt and water to gogles for pain.

Aquaphor healed burned skin I find it works well restoring my new skin, little greasy but it works!

    Hi chimay,

    The last weeks and the next few are hard. My last weeks of radiation I thought I would gag every time. I had to remove the mask and gargle and spit one time. Usually, gargling just before putting on the mask worked for me. Always, Magic Mouth Wash 30 minutes before radiation.

    As for the neck burns, I swear by Silver Sulfadiazine Cream. I went through a lot of it. It was like new skin. It messed up my tee shirt and pillow case, but saved my life (so to speak).

    I always, used magic mouth wash before bed; it would buy me an hour of no pain so I could fall asleep.

    sorry about the mucous chimay .....it's bad I know ..but it will end :)
