Hello everybody. Was admitted to the hospital for upper body pains last night, I did have a quad bypass 4 years ago and knew something was wrong. My EKG was not normal so I am waiting to see what tests they will run tomorrow, I know of a stress test. But then came the shattering news after they did a cat scan, a tumor showing up in my left lung. I cannot have contrast due to the Cisplatin damage to my kidneys. They want me to see my PCP as soon as possible to schedule another scan. I am in my local hospital but have just sent an e-mail to my doctor in Hershey Med. Needless to say I was shocked as was my poor wife and son. Will have to work on this immediately but have to get this heart situation sorted as well, it's been a disastrous 4 years.

Denis ....your post broke my heart .....and made me angry all at the same time (not trying to be a downer) ....

You have been around the block a few times so I know you will use that to your advantage and ....

..and I will be saying special prayers for you, your wife and your son tonight!!!! (if okay by you).

...I will specifically pray the spot in your lung is benign or just goes away....and strength for your heart!!

Very sorry to hear this news- hopes and Prayers, Denis.

As NPC, and 3-years out, I took advice gotten here and started doing a 6-month CT between my yearly PS/CT because of the chances my C will show elsewhere- with the lungs as the most likely. If your growth is C, then know you need to get it dealt with ASAP. Due to my Sister, I know that if it is a significant growth, then the best option is to remove that part of the lung with the growth- though that might just apply to what is actual lung C, rather than SCC that started elsewhere. Too early to speculate.

You know what you have to do, Denis. ASAP. You've already been in the ring with C, like we all have. If that's what this is, you need the specifics to be known as fact, then get your best option, and go for it. We all have a greater chance of being diagnosed, again, than those who've never had it, and ASAP applies to all of us. Especially in the lungs, Denis. Please keep us informed on what's what with this. You're in all our Prayers, Brother.

So sorry you have this added stress when you need to be doing everything in your power to help your docs with your heart issues. Hope you get test results quickly, so your team can set up a plan to help you. As for the lung spot, I am hoping it is not a cancerous tumor. Asking for help for you and your wife and son.

    tumor
i was scanned in january and they found a tumor in my lung.when they did a pet scan with just glucose for contrast, cos i am allergic to regular contrast,it was just a calcified old tumor, and benign.so try the pet scan.dont let them go poking aroung trying to do a lung biopsy unless you discuss this with the radiologist and surgeon.lung biopsies behind ribs are notoriously hard to do,and complications can arise..you are in my prayers..also,i play a precision all maple for 30 yrs..

    Dang, Dang, Dang
But you know what I really said after reading your post. It just gets me so mad sometimes I want to scream.

Lots of prayers out for you and your family in this time of need. Yes, it is a terrible burden we pay watching our loved ones worry so much at our illness.

Get that heart taken care of first.

    Stay strong,

    Tom
