Follow up from yesterdays Post. I made it, wow soft bed, nice people, tv with a remote on a rope, a mans fantasy, yes i said a remote on a rope. If I may my friends since I have officially taking my first shot at Cancer today, I will be leaving the Newbie status and with your permission maybe a PFC.(Private 1st Class for now) It felt so good to hit back and yes I know I have a long road but tonight by Gods Grace, I will sleep just a little better than I have recently.. I just can not thank all of you P51, KEN, Longtimesurvivor, Leo, Tim, MsSarge, Skiffin, wow for a man who had about two friends in his life (not counting family) I now feel as if I have many.. and I leave out so many more that have wished me well on this site. But I also want to say a very big Thank You for my caregiver Ditto II, she was there with me and as I said before that is priceless. I pray for all of you everynite. We will make it.

    I'll Endorse a Promotion...
Though you might not sleep for awhile tonight if you got a good dose of steroids....

Those suckers usually left me full of energy each chemo day, then sleeping most of the next day, LOL...

    Carry on PFC....

    Yeah
I've been here with just a couple breaks early on since '76.

Saw a great show by Joan Jett at Dubs once. I otherwise didn't hang there much.

    But we digress.

    ;)

    Same Time...
I lived there during the same time frame...

I moved to Ocala after the USMC in 1977, went and graduated from CFCC. Then moved to G'ville and worked for the City for several years with RTS, then GRU.

Moved to Tampa, and eventually to Lakeland where I have worked for the City - Lakeland Electric for 22 years now.

I love Gainesville though, although being there in the 70's - 80's was pretty awesome. My mom still lives in Ocala, so when visiting her and if I get some time, I usually try to swing up to Gainesville.

    Congrats!
Starting was harder than continuing for me. You've just gotten through boot camp and now you can settle into every day routine. It's actually comforting, knowing you follow the same pattern every weekday until you're done.

Does it help if I admit that I'm an Army brat? ;-)

Yep! We are the Tuesday Chemo Club!
It doesn't have the same nice ring to it as The Breakfast Club, but it's a cooler group for sure. :-)
