21 days of fever and finally admitted to the hospital

in Head and Neck Cancer #1
Well they finally admitted my husband yesterday. He went to see his GP and he did the echo and said regardless of the results he was admitting him into the hospital, saying that he was worried. Symptons as of today:
Neck Tenderness
Tightnesss of the spinal cord
severe fatigue
fever up to 102 in the am & pm
night sweats

The infectious disease doctor sais there is an infection they just dont where or what kind yet.

    that they are listening to you and concerned!! Sorry you're having to go thru this but surely soon they'll figure out the problem and begin to treat him!! We'll be thinking of you both!!

    I am so sorry it took this long to get some action. I am praying they can get this under control quickly. I sm praying for you both. Wish I could be there to give you a comforting shoulder to lean on.

    Thank you everyone for the kind words. I need them, I am exhausted today at work...
    Well the Infectious Disease Doc came in and said they think they have pinpointed the area of infection. They are going to look down his esopaghus and do an ultrasound of that area.
    So, the infection sounds to be in the head & neck area.

    Honey, I can imagine how exhausted you are...all the stress, and nobody listening...

    Thank gawd they finally heard, and are taking some action. Sending prayers that they are right about where the infection is located, and start getting him some help.

    'Bout Time
    This had to be so very stressful for you two not knowing what it was and no one doing anything. At least now they will run tests until it is diagnosed and treated. I wonder why it took so long for the medical team to act?

    Try to get some rest if you can.

    Crystal, finally... glad they finally took you serious. what a runaround. It sounds like he is now in good hands and I hope they can find the right treatment for him. Hope you can get some rest now that he is in a safe place. Sending you some cyber hugs.

    Went to the hospital last night and they DO NOT KNNOW whats wrong with my hubby.
    They did an echo to see ih he has a heart infection, then they made him drimk barrium and did a ct scan to look at his tummy. This morning the infectious disease dc ame in and said they are still trying to find it, they are going to run another test today, my hubby does not knwo what it is.. SHEEESSHHHH!! Anyways the Inf dis doc said it may be cancer somewhere in his body.. YEP!!! I am one worried woman.

    Why do I feel it's his thyroid????
    Good luck! Glad he is at the hospital. I feel bad he is having such a difficult recovery time.

    I'm sure they looked into this; but I can't help but think this fever of unkown origin is some how related to his thyroid!!! Prayers for you!!

    Arndog, these docs should NOT be throwing around the C word as easily as they do. We are living with that scare right now. Wishing a speedy recovery for your husband. Take care of yourself too...
