Onc called with biopsy results :(

My onc called today at 2:40 with my biopsy results. It's inflammatory breast cancer around the heart and pleural spaces of my lungs. So now I've joined my other pink sisters and brothers who are stage 4. I have known since day 1 that this day would come. Cancer in itself is sneaky and hateful but IBCi very quick & can happen in the blink of an eye. I see my onc on Monday at 8:00 to discuss the treatment plan. I'm gearing up for the fight but I sure am not looking forward to loosing my hair again, especially because im just starting to look a little like me again.

Thank you all for your prayers & I'm asking that you please pray for my family too. I'm so worried about my husband and my parents. They are being strong but I know that they are scared senseless.

Hugs & God Bless,

Dawne

    Oh Dawne
I am so sorry to hear this news. Even when we suspect and are pretty sure what's going on, hearing the words is just devastating. I will surely keep you in my prayers and put you and your family in my God Box right now.

God Bless you. You are not alone.

ever the optimist, I was still hoping for good news. I too always felt I was not done with he beast, but it didn't make it any easier when it showed its ugly head again to tell my family, it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do.

I will continue to believe each week when I get my infusions, that the chemo is my bridge to life until they come up with the combination to turn this into a treatable chronic condition.

BTW, I am on Navelbine this time and I got some hair back. It was an inch to an inch and a half and actually had my first real hair appointment in over a year to get it trimmed. It took 4 months to grow, but it was kind of normal to go to a salon. Infusion nurse said with some of the new chemo's you don't always lose your hair.

My heart and prayers go out to you Dawne and your loving family.
    Hugs,

    Bad Biopsy Results
Oh Dawne, I am SO sorry to hear about your biopsy results. I really don't even know what to say. I know you were so proud of yourself for finally stopping smoking and you were looking forward to having your reconstruction done - and now this. Certainly not what you were hoping I know. Your Pink family is thinking of you and your husband and parents.

    Sorry about Results
    Dawne,

Sorry your results were not good. I too am a stage 4 with bone mets. I hope your treatment plan goes well. I've lost my hair twice as well. I actually didn't care as much the second time. I will say a prayer for you and your family. Stay positive and hopefully this is just a bump in the road of life.

    Stage IV Club
    Dear Dawne,

Am so sorry that your biopsy pathology showed that your cancer is back. Treatment is doable. In 2008, when I had so many tumors in both lungs and pleura, along with a pleural effusion that the thoracic surgeon used the word "studded with tumors". It's almost 4 years now and I am still around. My recent scan has me almost all back to where I started on square one in 2008 along with bone involvement now. However, I will fight again. You will too!

John Paul Jones a sea captain back in the time of the Revolutionary War said "I have not yet begun to fight!" That is us, we ladies and gentlemen with Stage IV.

Wishing you the best on this journey you didn't not want to embark.

Oh Dawne, I'm so sorry you joined us
It is hard enough in the "regular" club, now joining the advanced is quite a kick in the pants.

    You can do this!!

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers,

Oh Dawne, not the news any
Oh Dawne, not the news any of us want to hear. I'm sorry you joined this Stage IV club. But, it's not a death sentence, just means you are back in the ring with your boxing gloves on to kick the @ss out of the beast. You have several Stage IV sisters on here that are ready to provide support and encouragement.

I was DX as Stage IV in August of last year. I have been on chemo every 3 weeks since August. I just had a scan Tuesday and am waiting for the results to see if I can take a chemo vacation. So, my point is, there are treatments that are effective and a whole array of various treatments available. Sending strength to you and your family and love and (((hugs)))!

    Am so very sorry, Dawne...
Certainly, not the results prayed for... I hope the words of those here who are also Stage 4 will help to strengthen your resolve as you face another course of treatment. I'll continue to keep you & all your loved ones within good thoughts. Most importantly, with hopes that whatever treatments you'll endure will bring the best possible outcome.

    Sending heartfelt cyber(((hugs))).

    Kind regards, Susan
