Turkey Neck and Phlem

I know these topics have been discussed before , but for the life of me couldn't find the past threads. After coming through all the treatments with little or no issues, I now have this "turkey neck" going on which I think is large under my chin & across my throat area plus I have this phlem that seems to be stuck in my throat. I asked my ENT about both and he said the neck thing will take awhile to go away and when I said the phlem feels like a ball of glop in my throat he said after scoping that there was some swelling on the side that was radiated but nothing major to worry about , then saying radiation is the gift that keeps giving. I told him I drin hot tea in the morning which seems to loosen the glop but have tried several times to hack it up with little success, I asked about musinex(sp) and he said I could give it a try. Any advise our there???

Thanks,

Linda

    MarineE5 ~ Gentle Massage..
You might wanna try the massage that MarineE5 posted...

Eventually the lymphnodes will find new drainage paths and the swelling will go down, it took several months for me.

    Gentle Massage & Stretching...

    see, I don't have a turkey neck
because between being radiated twice, having a full radical neck on one side, then this ultra radical surgery last year, I kind of look like zoro got drunk one night and decided he needed to practice on me. So with this last treatment, I didn't just get swelling in the neck, it affected my face as well. Both sides, but especially the left. Pretty scary swelling. I have noticed this last week, that I am quite a bit better. I didn't say normal, I'm a long ways from that, but no longer scary. My experience with swelling before, is that it eventually goes away. The swelling from last year's surgery was almost gone before this last episode. So I'm still betting on all swelling subsiding eventually.

    Best to you.

    Old mail
Turkey neck is like old mail, eventually the envelopes become irrelevant as will your swelling in about six months. Nothing clears up the throat better than a neti pot. Get one and use it and you will see a huge improvement in the mucus.

Be sure you get the Musinex without decongestant or dry mouth is bad. I think it comes in a dark blue box. They unfortunately do not make it in liquid. All the liquid Musinex has decongestant, so if you cant swallow pills you are out of luck.

    Hope this helps.
