Are the rest of you experiencing difficulty with pages loading on this website from time to time? Several times I've gotten so frustrated I just left the site. Couldn't even log off.

My assumption is that this site gets too much traffic for the server to handle. That says a lot about how many people depend on this site for support.

    trouble all the time
    sometimes if I load the site in a second browser, it will load right in while my first attempt is cranking away without success. Don't know if its volume related. Happens at 4AM too:)

    Same Here
    For me to try to get on the discussion board and then on to the forum takes
    Forever, it just keeps loading so I navigate away and when I come back its the
    Same, still loading. I think your right with the amount of people on the site I don't
    Think they have enough bandwidth to handle all the traffic. Either that or my i-pad,
    2office computers and my cell phone are really, really slow.

    God speed, er I mean Bless.....

    Tips & Tricks
    Here's a few things I do to help with that...

    Yes, at times I also have trouble logging on (or the page loading).

    What I've found to help once on...;

    I scan the new topics and open them in a new tab instead of bouncing back and forth between the main list.

    Another thing I tend to do because of lost long posts;

    I'll copy my reply before posting it. That way if it takes awhile to post and I lose the page. I can just reload the page again and paste my reply, not having to re-type it all again. You just have to becareful of not double posting.

    It's just you and me
    Hi Tommy, I feel the same. The fact is the servers are a bit overloaded, and during peak times they slow down.

    On the other hand. I remember the days of the modem, annd swithching from 800 to 1200 speeds. And the move from the 286 system chips to the lightning fast 386dx.

    We adapt with the speed that Microsoft and other hardware and software manufacturers can produce. I remember downloading video and putting it togetther with software, in segments, then running it.

    Nonetheless, yes, the site is slow at times :-). By current standards.

    best, Hal

    LOL, was my first....

    Then a few years later I moved to a Gateway 486DX2 - 8MB of RAM... That's when RAM cost $55/MB...

    Then I started building my own computers, both Intel an AMD processors up through the P4's and AMD Athlons & Thunderbirds.

    It's all WIFI and laptops for me these days..other than work computers.

    It's not uncommon these days for laptops to have 8 - 16GB of RAM.
