I found a new growth in my mouth this week. I will be seeing my ENT next week. Please say a little prayer that it turns out to be nothing. I won't borrow trouble, but I am praying that it is just a lump from my mouthpiece. I will update after I see the dr next week. Thanks and HUGS!

    I TOO WENT THROUGH THIS
About 4 months ago. I had a very swollen gum around my Wisdom Tooth on the same side where my Tonsill was removed. I was conviced it was a recurrance. I had my ENT look at it and he biopsied the area and it came back as "Chronic Yeast" imbedded deep in the gum tissue.

I am glad I went through the short term hell as now if something gets sore or looks or feels funny, I can remain calm.

    Best!!

    good luck
Prayers coming your way. I think we will constantly be living in fear that every lump, bump or spot is a recurrence. Praying that you will be fine and it's just a small nuisance.

What Hawk said goes for me, too. There's a number of possibles, so do not assume it is C, and keep it in the Positive. Prayers.

    update...it isn't bone
so here is what I know now...it isn't a boney growth. the ENT thought it might have been one, but after a fine needle aspiration he now knows it isn't one. next step...surgery to remove it and find out what it is. he doesn't think it is malignant, but I have been told that before, so I will wait until I get the final path results to either freak out or sigh a huge sigh.
My emotions are all over the place right now...mostly disappointed that it wasn't bone...but on a positive side...we have been able to rule out it being bone. 1 possibility down, who knows how many more to go...and he will fix my sinuses at the same time. so two surgeries rolled into one which means I pay for my doctor's time for both procedures, but only have to pay once for the hospital, once for the anethesiologist, I will only have one recovery period (about 2 weeks for the sinuses) , and they can test the growth while he is working on my sinuses and remove it with clear margins if necessary! so what had the potential to be three procedures (1- sinus, one- growth, plus one- if the growth didn't have clean margins) is now just going to be one! I can find the good in anything, even news that was not what I was wanting to hear!
wishing you a great day! Huge Hugs and thanks for the prayers!

    Wow
Just realized there are a lot of us wishing nothing for you. And other folks think it's important to hope and pray for "something".

    LOVE YOUR OUTLOOK
You are right to look at it this way. Like I stated in a previous post, I put myself through hell and back to find out my swollen area was just Chronic Yeast.

I know first hand now it could be cancer, but it can also be many many other things.

Hang in there and a prayer and a positive thought headed your way.

    BEST!!

    UPDATE
I went into surgery on Monday for my sinuses and to remove a growth from left side of my hard palate. the ENT decided, after doing more fine needle aspirations and re-examining of my CT's that it actually was bone! he says that the reason that I don't have a similar structure on the right side is either that I was build asymmetrical or that radiation actually dissolved the structure. either way, I am very happy to not have had to deal with a mouth wound as well as my sinuses! we will keep an eye on the area, just in case, but for now he is pretty confident is is just bone!
my sinuses however, took him over two hours to work on. he straightened my deviated septum, he removed a ton of old scar tissue (which was blocking my airways), he opened up any narrow or blocked sinuses and I have been told that he had to work on all but one of them. he told both my husband and myself that he did everything to my sinuses that he would have done if I was his wife or member of his family. which is good, as that is always my first question to ask a doctor...what would you do/ recommend if I was your wife or family member. and when my kids are ill, I ask...what would you do if my kid was yours. I like knowing who/ what they think is the best. that is actually how I found my ENT. I kept asking my doctors who would you want to go to/ who would you send your family to. they all agreed they would want to see my ENT.
He is amazing, not just with his surgical technique, but in that he likes to do research to make sure he is doing the right, most current treatment methods. but beyond all of those things, he is a man of God. he asks permission to say a prayer every time we meet, thanking God for his help/aid in healing, his aid in guiding his hands when he operates, and for lending support during the time of healing. he said before this surgery a prayer that God guide his hands to help my breathing be better and to aid me in a swift recovery so that I can get back to my children and to my daily activities quickly. he also prayed that the lump be benign and not be a recurrence.
I am thankful for so many things in my life, my loving family, my amazing children, my supportive husband, but I am also thankful that God led me to a surgeon who I have faith in. whom I know doesn't have all the answers, but most of all, whom knows that he doesn't heal alone...that he is an instrument of God, that God guides his hands.
thanks for the prayers...I believe in the power of prayer and in the power of faith...whatever form that faith may take!
    HUGE HUGS coming your way!
