another day in my life

I did not make it to my oppointment with my ONC but did meet with one of his doctors in trainning. My numbers have jumped another 30 pointd so on the 25th I will have the catscan and then on the 30th I will know for sure if the cancer is back. While talking with the other doctor she did say that it could be up because of all the pain I am in. They have set me up with palliative care and they wanted me to truely understand that palliative care is no longer just for those who are at the end of their fight they will be taking over my pain managment. The first doctor is so concered about people getting a hooked to the medication that he is not helping me with getting this pain undercontrol. The doctor was worried about my quality of life and wanted to me to get started in this program asap. So that is how my day ended, I should tell you how it started at 2am I was in the ER because I could not get any pooh to move and I am not talking about the bear lol. So my day started off really, really crappy no really it was craaaaaaappy. Hope you all are doing better than I am right now. Sending hugs to all the teal sisters out there.

    HUGS AND PRAYERS, ANNE
I've been following your posts, and I know that you're going through a lot. Humor can be very helpful. When my husband was in the hospital for migrane and cluster headaches back in the 80's, they would get the group of like-sufferers together every night before bed and show them a funny movie, on the premise that 'laughter is the best medicine'. Those endorphins did get flowing and actually helped from time to time. It also introduced us to some very funny movies, one of our now-favorites being 'The Money Pit'.

I'm sorry you must deal with all of this, and I send hope and prayers that your doctor is correct - pain could be causing the rise in numbers. I had a similar situation, and my numbers jumped about 35 points! I was scared for sure. But all was well the following month's report.

I'm sure it wasn't fun to be in the ER. Those bowel situations are truly uncomfortable, I know. In the meantime, Anne, may I offer one of my favorite scripture verses? 'He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind'. That, along with many others (and my faith and family) got me through some very tough times.

God's blessings to you, Anne. Let us know your results.

There is nothing that can be made better by being in pain! Once they get that under control whatever you have to face you will be able to deal with. I am sorry you are feeling so badly and hope today is better.

thank you for the scripture I am a follower of Christ and any verses that comferts is always welcome. Thank you for understanding what I am going through I am trying to just rest until we know for sure what is going on it just scary it has only been eight months since I went to the hospital because I thought I had some kind of lung virus and found out it was cancer. So alot of this is new to me I did not know how cancer felt or how going into remission was like or coming out of remission. Say that every thing is new to me and it the unknown that scares me the most I like know what is coming I am a little bit of a control freak lol. I will let you all know what the catscan shows thanks for lifting me up in your prays.

Today in some ways is a little bit worst but only because I had chemo yesturday and I am out of my morphine the doctor made a mistake writting the script yesturday and had to go in and get a new script. I sent a friend to pick up and drop off since I could not get out today. She dropped it off and when my dad went to pick it up found out the doctor made another mistake and they are waiting for the doctor to call back and the office is closed until Tuesday. There is a doctor on call I hope that works.

    Dear Anne

Sorry for all your worries. I was in the same situation about six months ago where the CA-125 jumped up after being low x 3 months. The CT scan looked the same as it did when my CA-125 was in the single digits.

It took a PET/CT scan to see the disease progression--two months later. I hope your situation is just a reflection of some overall inflammation & not disease progression. Unfortunately, a CT doesn't always show early progression.

    Avastin therapy
Anne: I am truly sorry to read you are faced with a rising CA-125. I recall some women posting that Avastin caused their CA-125 to go up. So maybe you are doing OK after all. I can't imagine why you have such terrible pain...that has to be really awful to live with.

You are in my prayers, Anne. Stay strong.

    Hi Anne...
You have such a sweet spirit and always post such caring things to the rest of our sisters. I hope you can find some relief for your pain. What sort of pain is it? I have lots of aches and pains now which I believe is related to after effects of carbo/taxol. I am hoping they abate over time. I will pray for relief for you. Hugs.

Thank you for your prays and I am really hoping it is just because I am in so much pain that the number has gone up. The pain if from the avastin and right now I am still waiting for my morphine to be refilled. For some reason walgreens has it down as a new sript for me which is a laugh since they have been filling it. So they will not fill until the talk to my doctor on Tuesday. OOOOOOHHHHHH so much fun going on over here in my house lol I am meeting with the nurse from palliative later today maybe she can get the to release my medication I feel like they are holding it hostage lol

The pain is from the Avastin and it is joint pain I guess that the Avastin for some cause bad joint pain and I pulled the lucky number and have the joint pain. Thank you for your kind words. With the taxol/carbo which I was on first well with the Avastin I started it after the first treatment, but I was on it for six months and the taxol caused bone pain which is different from the joint pain. The bone pain felt like they were using a greater and just shaving the bone apart. The morphine helped with that completely I no longer feel the bone pain. When the joint pain start which was about three treatments into the Avastin it started getting worst with each treatment the morphine helps a little but we need to get it to the right level. I am meeting with a nurse today so maybe we can get this worked out. I will be praying for you and the bone pain do you mussles also hurt if so ask for mussle relaxers they help. I was also put on Lyrica because of my fibromyalga and that has helped alot for the little aches.

I am hopping that is all it is I will Know my or the 30th and I will let you all know what I find out. Thanks for your prays and kind words. I am so glad I found this site I am one who if I don't know you I don't talk much or reach out for help (in person I mean) so a support group that I have to go to would not work. This site is my support group and all of you ladies have helpped me so much I want you all to know that. With out haveing all of you there when I need you I am not sure how I would be doing when it comes to someone understanding what I am going through. My mom is a great support but she has not had cancer so she can only understand to a point what I am going through but not to the degree you all do. Thanks for your support.

If the cat scan comes back showing no change since the last one I will ask my doctor to do a PET scan I have never had one before. He is really good at listening to me I am really hopping it is just from the pain. I will let you all know when I get the results on the 30th. Thanks again for your support.
