Back

Hello everyone and happy new year. I am coming up on 2 years cancer free. During my cancer I was constantly on here and there are a few members that I am enternally grateful too. Not only for their advice but their humanity. These people (and I still see they are here helping others) I hope I can help others in even the smallest of ways. I had stage four SCC. I had a growth on the base of tongue and spread to 3 lymphnodes in my neck. 36 rounds of rad and 3 rounds of chemo. No surgery thank god. If you are wondering about the name. Do it for OJ. I have twin boys who are 3 1/2 years old. Owen and John. I am 47 years old and live in Atlanta. I had a rough go of it about 6 months ago with depression. Self diagnosed. I have learned a great deal since learning about my cancer, through my treatment and post treatment. I hope I can help someone with what ever stage in life they are at. I look forward to many of you and god bless everyone here.

Peace and Grace
Kurt

    Welcome back
I have 3 1/2 year old twin grandsons, what a hoot. They have been fun to be with during treatment (sometimes!). A really good reason to fight the beast.

    Hello Again
Remembered your name - glad to see you here again. What did you prescribe for your self-diagnosed depression? My rads doc asked me if I thought I might be "a little depressed". I said "Well, according to the TV commercials, depressed people aren't made happy by things that normally make them happy - I heard one of the Happy Dancing songs from Charlie Brown last weekend, and it made me happy, so I think I'm OK". In reality, I'm thinking about taking some SAMe - I dunno. Nice of you to help out the rest of the troops.

    Welcome Back Mister Kotter...
Oh, LOL...guess that is a different K word, not Kurt.

Glad you dealt with your situation and are moving on...and willing to share your experience and knowledge gained.

You made me laugh also...your forum name. Of course if you know me, I am of the Abi-Normal Clan...mainly humor.

I was thinking of something totally different when I saw Do It for OJ...

Wasn't quite sure where you were going with that, but I like your logic and explanation much better.

    Best,
    John

    Hi Kurt
I don't have recall of your posts, but I can surely relate to your history. Take yours and mine and overlap and we are one person. I know from whence you came !!
I am 21 months out of treatment and NED. I am happy your little guys keep you up and focused. Keep plugging and we always need more information and positive vibes here.
    Welcome back....
