All,

My beloved father, Parviz Ghajar, passed away on March 27 2011 after his courageous battle with EC Stage IV for almost a year.

Needless to say that last few months has been extremely difficult for my family specially for mom and during holidays. You see, my parents were married for over 55 years and there were truly in love till last minute.

Cancer not only impact the patients but also impacts their families.
I lost my dad to cancer, lost my job, lost my savings, and much much more....
I could replace all the material things, but I could never have my dad back.

With utmost respect, and god bless you all.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your father.

It's indeed wonderful that you are trying to raise funds to help children with cancer. However, it was necessary to delete the portion of your post asking for donations because no solicitation is permitted on CSN, no matter how noble the gesture or worthy the cause may be.

Wishing a new year of peace and healing,
    Greta

    Thank you
    Hi William,

Thank you so much for you kind and detailed email.
Everyday is an effort for us to live our life as if nothing has happened.
I feel I have aged over a decade due to everthing we went through in 2010 and 2011.
At times, I think to myself, Was there anything I could have done to keep him safe? or prolong his life?

I know this way of thinking is painful, but I need to know if I have done everything for him.

Holidays was the worst time for us this year.
I was able to handle thanks giving, but unfortunatly crashed big time for Christmas time.
I literally couldn't get out of bed and slept all day.
Last Christmas we were all at parents house where dad made escargot, ribs and pomegranet Martini which was magnificant and extremely delicious because it was made by love.

I miss him misreably and i cannot explain in words.
Ohhhh, god knows how much I miss him.
I will give my life to hold him one more time, kiss him all over, and tell him how much I love him.

Anyhow I want to wish you happy new and great year ahead.
Last but not least, I wanted to thank you so much for all your support and wise advice.
I remember there was a time that I was going to sell my house to pay for Avastin treatment and after talking to you and few other doctors I decided not to do so.

Love you from bottom of my heart.
    Shideh Ghajar

PS: I was able to surpass my goal of raising $1000 for St Jude Children on Facebook and Twitter in only 4 days. My wish came through, and I hope my dad is proud of me in heaven by remembering him and his legacy by giving back to children with cancer.
